GIANT Goldfish! Too big for tank????

One of our goldfish has grown so very large that he seems way too large for our aquarium. I'm wondering about putting him in a local pond! I don't want him to become automatic duck food (okay I'm weird... I know how nature works but I would like to set this guy free, not send him to the death chamber).

    Anyone know anything about this?

Thank you rsr, I do have a friend with a man made pond. I don't know if they stocked it. Also, since I would only release the one fish, there could be no reproduction unless she's allowed others to put goldfish there.

I had no idea about the problem this could cause!
