A certain well-known Calvinist says that God ordains some to judgment and that God controls the events of History to maximize His glory. I'm not going to quote him exactly at this time.

The glory of God was displayed in Jesus' miracles, it was shown in his disciples/saints, it was displayed on Calvary and in the resurrection. God's greatest glory comes from and because of His great love. To "decide" or "ordain" some people to judgment from the beginning of time is NOT the character of God and would be a far inferior type of glory(if it were true)..

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I know the Bible says much about God being glorified. But the Bible says that Jesus endured the cross, not for "glory" but "for the JOY set before Him". That "joy" entails "righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost". In other words, Jesus was looking forward to enjoying fellowship and love WITH US. That's what he went to the cross for. And what about the glory? Jesus will be magnified and glorified FAR greater than any selfish, man-conceived concept of glory BECAUSE of his infinite and matchless love which was freely offered to ALL on Calvary.
