    God Bless America . . .

    How many of us here as Christians can say, "God bless America!" and mean what we say?

    Or will this become a polarized discussion about which politician we hate the most? If we polarize - which side will polarize first?

    Great post El-Guero!

    God Bless America::thumbs:

    I also pray our Government always has the fortitude to ask the same. Though staunch conservative I would also pray for all our elected officials regardless of their party affiliation. Something sadly many seem reluctant to do.

    Take care. USA #1

    Do you bless the food you eat? Do you bless missionaries and the countries wherein they serve? Do you pray for blessings in any way?

    If so, why not pray for God's blessings on America? America is no more -- or less -- deserving than any other blessing request.

    To pray for blessings for any one specific person, event, entity does NOT automatically deny it to any other. Unless, of course, that is the crux of your prayer.

    It is not the crux of mine.

    If you cannot pray that God blesses America, then why are you in America?

    I can say it, and two million Americans died to give you the freedom to bless America . . .

    You didn't use the full quote

    Vera stated:
    No i can't say (God Bless America) Only. It should be God Bless the world, Not Just america.

    El Guero ,Vera did not say she couldn't say God Bless America, but she did include in her blessing not just America but the World and I can see no wrong in that.

    Again El_Guero great post and I am with you brother!

    Bless you and Rev. Mitchell for his fantastic posts. The John Wayne recitation was always one of my absolute favorites!

    Here is another good one from a Mississippi boy, Elvis Presley. http://www.bonniesplace1.com/AmericanTrilogy.html
