I wanted to share something... but I am not sure if this is in the right place.

First let me say that I am not the type to see miracles in everything. I believe God still works them, but He always has a reason behind the miracle...

I saw one today. This is one of the two times in my life that I truly believe God performed a miracle that I am aware of.

Today after morning worship, a few of us were standing around talking about witnessing. One lady asked me to stop by a grocery store and talk to one of the cashiers to church. The cashier is a close friend of hers and she has been witnessing to her. The lady at church described the cashier to me, and I immediately recognized her description. So I told her I would be happy to talk to her and invite her to church.

Well, after that, my family and I went to Subway for lunch... and I knew we would be going to the grocery store for some groceries afterwards...while at Subway I searched my wallet for one of my business cards to give the cashier at the grocery store if she was working today.
I searched and searched but could not find one.

My wallet looks something like this...
[IMG] with my license in the center fold always showing as soon as I flip it open.

Anyway, I went in the grocery store, got what I needed, and the cashier was working today. So I got in her line. I kept thinking to myself, "I would love to have one of the church's business cards to give her."
I told myself that I would load up on them when I got to church tonight..
Then when I reached into my back pocket for my wallet, I thought, "God, I would love to have one of those cards to give to her"..

I opened my wallet, and where my license was, there was the business card staring at me!

When I got up to her so she could ring my groceries up, I talked to her and she shared some things with me. And was very excited that I invited her to church... she said that she would come.

I know God has something in store for her...
Miracles happen because God has a plan.
I can't wait to see what happens next.....

OH, the other miracle in my life:
When I was 14 I was sneaking around seeing a girl I liked... My mom and dad couldn't stand this girl, and was always telling me that she was no good, and would get me in trouble...

But she was soooooo cute... (I thought)

I got so tired of hearing my parents complain so I decided to take it up with God... hoping He would convince them I was right.

Well, one Sunday evening, while everyone was praying in church, I was sitting about 3 pews back from the front... I asked God, "Please tell me what you want me to do... I need a scripture to convince dad that I should date who I want."

About that time a scripture reference popped into my head... It was loud and clear... The voice said... "Ephesians 6:1"
I stopped praying at that point, and grabbed my Bible... I had to see what this verse said... I was thinking as I was turning... "Thank you God!, now we will see results!"

I got to the scripture, and froze when it said, "Children, Obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right"

I just looked to Heaven and said "THANK You!"

Does anyone else have stories in their lives of when you know God did something?

That's awesome, tt! A few weeks ago we had some unexpected bills come up. You know, the kind of emergency stuff that comes up that isn't part of your "normal" budget. Well, my husband and I prayed about it and the very next day I went to the post office to get the mail. There was a refund check for almost the exact amount we owed, with less than $1 difference. We had no idea this refund was coming. I know God sent it!:godisgood:

Ever prayed for a parking place? I have many times. The town I live in in Mexico has very few parking places in comparsion to the number of vehicles. When ever I have occasion to drive downtown or to the hospital for a visit, I try to remember to pray before I leave for the Lord to give me a parking place.

When I forget to do so, I waste precious minutes and gas driving around looking. But when I remember to pray beforehand, the Lord never fails to have a place ready for me when I get to where I am going.

Sounds like such a simple thing, doesn't it? But I am thoroughly convinced that the Lord is concerned with the minute details of our lives- doesn't the Bible say something about Him knowing the number of the hairs on our heads?

What a mighty God we serve!:godisgood:

Your mention of Subway reminded me of something that happened one day to a guy in Chattanooga. I realize this isn't a "first person" story, and you don't have to believe it, but I have no reason to doubt the person that told me that this happened to him.

He and his wife and another couple were taking a walk across the Walnut Street Bridge (a pedestrian bridge in Chattanooga). After they walked across the bridge, they stopped in a Subway to get something to drink. Johnathan got a cup of ice-water.

As they were walking back across the bridge, he stepped over to a trash can to throw his cup away. A young man (around 18-20 years old) who was sitting on a bench near the garbage can said "Is there anything to drink in that?" Johnathan said "Just some water". The young man said "Could I have it?" So he gave him the cup of water and he gulped it down.

Johnathan asked him if he had anything to eat that day, and the boy said "no". So Johnathan said "why don't you come home with us and have dinner?"

On the way home, Johnathan was witnessing to the boy, and the boy said "you know, I've had a lot of people invite me to their church, but I've never had anybody invite me to their home".

He said they went home and had dinner, and after realizing the boy was homeless, told him he could spend the night in their spare bedroom. This was on Saturday night.

Johnathan said that the verse about "entertaining angels" kept going through his head.

The next morning, Johnathan told the boy that they were going to church, and that he was welcome to go with them. The boy said he probably needed to get back to the bridge, because he and the other homeless folks kinda watch out for each other.

He took him back to the bridge, and as the boy was getting out of the car, Johnathan and his wife told him goodbye, and said something like "hope to see you again". The boy turned and said "Oh, you will, but you won't recognize me then." Again, the verse about "entertaining angels" went through his head.

Johnathan and his wife drove to Nashville for a singing engagement that night. (He and his wife perform as "Young Harmony". Their website is www.youngharmony.com )

He said as they were setting up the equipment in the church they were singing at that night, a lady walked up to him and asked if he was the one who would be singing there that night. He said "Yes Ma'am".

She said "I know this is going to sound crazy to you, and I have no idea why I'm telling you this, or what it means, but as I was driving down the road, the Lord spoke to me and told me to come into this church, find the person who is singing here tonight, and to tell him this: You had an angel in your home last night, and he was well pleased with your service."

If we didn't believe in miracles, we would not be Christians.

A personal story of God's workings. Some may have heard it.

My wife and I went on a mission trip to Mexico in '98. We didn't have the money to go, but a couple in out church came up and paid our way. It was a good trip, but I felt very out of place, like I wasn't supposed to be there. It worried me the whole time.

On the way back, customs caused out entire group to miss our flight. So we're sitting in Houston, and the airline is going to re-route us. We call home to let everyone know what's going on. My wife calls her mother, and is told my folks are on their way to UAB, that my sister is in a coma. Immediately we go tot he airline and have the two of us re-routed to Birmingham.

We shared with out group what we knew, and we prayed. Three different members came up and gave me cash. We didn't realize that we were broke (left what we had with us with the missionary in Mexico), but more on this later.

While flying to Birmingham, the guy next to me strikes up a conversation. He lives in Birmingham, and is a Christian, Baptist even. I didn't tell him why we were going to Birmingham until right as we landed. he said, "She'll be in the NICU. Do you know if she is there yet?" (She was in Aubern when it happened). I told him no, and he pulled out his cell phone and dialed a number and handed it to me. It was UAB, and they confirmed she had arrived. I thanked him and parted ways.

We pick up our luggage and go to hail a taxi. The same guy walks up and asks if we have a way there. I told him we were going to take a taxi, but he said we wouldn't know which building (UAB is HUGE). He told us that his company had done the security for UAB, and offered to give us a ride to the right place. We took him up on it.

When we arrived, we walked around to get our luggage, and my parents came walking up. They had been looking for the right building for two hours. God put us there at exactly the right time to be there with them a we went in.

My sister was in a coma for a week, and then passed away. We were able to be there with my folks the entire time. The money those in our group gave us was exactly what we needed to pay for a room for the entire week.

Even though things didn't work out like we may have wanted, God proved His faithfulness to me that day/week. He made a way to put me where I needed to be, He ministered to me through those around me, He allowed me to be there to minister to my parents, and He provided the means for it all.

Anyone who says that God doesn't perform miracles today has not been in my shoes.

My story starts back in June of last year. I was rushed to the ER with Acute Acerbation and was diagnosed with COPD. I also had a very bad attack of Bronchitis and my legs and ankles were very swollen.

The Dr. ordered an Echocardiogram after the EKG came back abnormal and also a nuclear stress test.

The results came back showing that I had already had a small heart attack and my heart was damaged.

I was put on three heart meds. An appointment with the cardiologist was scheduled for July 5th for a heart catherization.

I was told I would either need from 1 to 5 stents put in, or open heart surgery, depending on the results of the catherization.

I lost my husband during open heart surgery and I was petrified of even having the catherization!

Anyway, I went to the appointment (this is after several doctors read my test results) with the cardiologist.

His nurse was standing by to prep me and the Dr. was looking at my test results on the computer screen. I was telling him about how I felt.

He looked at me for a moment and then back at the screen and said, "Wait a minute. This isn't what I just read!" He looked at the nurse and told her to cancel my catherization because I didn't need one!!!

He said he didn't know how he and all the other doctors could have misread my test results, but I could go home, stay on my medicine, live a normal life, and come back and see him in a year!

Let me tell you that NO ONE will ever convince me that God did not change the words on that computer screen that day. I had seen them before and after and so had a number of other people. When the screen changed, it showed no evidence of a heart attack even!!!

God not only healed me, but He made sure that everyone knew it!

Talk about having 'happy feet' and a happy heart!

I know God is still in the miracle-performing business, as well as the healing business!

It will be a year this June and I will go back for a check-up. I expect no bad test results! The doctors are still scratching their heads over the last batch.

    That is a wonderful story!!

God was playing moderator that day on that computer system... he decided to edit out some stuff He didn't like....
    How's that for irony?

You get to do it on Baptistboard, and He does it in real life!

Tim - What a wonderful testimony! Please keep us posted about this woman because for SURE God has plans for her! :D

Brian - That story gives me chills!!

For us, there have been so many times that God has had a hand in our life. The time that I had to sneeze just as the light turned green so I hesitated for a second - just to have a huge pickup come flying through the red light. The time that we had NO money and a few big important bills that needed to be paid - but we paid our tithe anyway - and we got a check just after we paid our tithe to be able to pay the bills, the tithe AND have 10% leftover! LOL!! God can be funny too, sometimes.

A big one for us was when I was trying to get pregnant after my 2nd child and we experienced 2 miscarriages. The first one was on the Thursday before Easter and I had a D&C on Good Friday - and my mother was talking to the doctor while I was in recovery. She said "Of all days for this to happen." and my doctor said "There needs to be a Good Friday in order for there to be an Easter Sunday." We continued treatments and conceived and lost another baby - and then went to the throne in prayer asking God what to do. I just needed to know if we would have any more kids - I'd be OK to hear "no" but really needed to know what was going to happen. God clearly told me that we WOULD have another child but it would be to HIS glory. I quit the fertility treatments and conceived my son 5 months later (don't know how - when I ovulated, my DH was stuck in Ohio for 4 days so it wasn't even our timing that was right!). At our 20 week sonogram, it was very clear to us and the sonographer that it was a girl I was carrying - but he turned out to be a boy. Our church had a few years previously began praying for mothers who couldn't conceive and all of them went on to have babies - all boys. There were more women who went for prayer and I was one of them. Robby was "miracle baby" #18 and when he was born and we were so surprised he was a boy, a friend said, "Of course it's a boy! He's one of the miracle babies!" I was so happy to have another child and was fine with him, although I prayed for one more to be close to him. When Robby was 19 months old, I didn't feel well so went and took a pregnancy test - it was positive! I called my doctor, he had me come right in and it turns out I was 10 weeks pregnant and never knew it!! God not only gave us our miracle baby - but a bonus too!! We all got a good laugh at that one!! :D I thank God for those miracles every day.

God is amazing and I'll never doubt His hand in my life. :godisgood:

These stories boggle the mind, dont' they? I have a renewed awe of God's power and his love for his children.

    Yet......

Everytime I see or hear of something like these stories, my initial reaction is amazement. My second reaction is, why should I be amazed? None of this is a big deal for the Creator of the Universe.

Healing a sickness in one of his measly little humans? Small stuff for the One who spoke into existence a universe so vast we can't even find the end of it.

Ah, Lord, what is man that thou art mindful of him?.......

Yet not a sparrow falls or one of his children hurts that he doesn't know it.

This is too much for me to express adequately. Oh, mighty God, how great thou art.

About a year and a half ago, my wife was involved in a car accident. She was stopped, waiting on the car in front of her to turn left, when a guy in a pick-up who apparently had his mind on other things, didn't notice that she was stopped and rammed into the back of her. It totalled her car.

She said she thought she would be okay, even though her neck was hurting her a little bit. I insisted that she let me take her to the emergency room, just to be certain everything was all right.

After they took x-rays, they came into the room with a neck-brace and told her to put it on because it looked like there were some broken bones in her neck. They said they would be back in a few minutes to take her to do a CT Scan.

She prayed. I prayed. We both prayed. They came and took her to do the CT Scan.

A little while later, they came in and took her neck brace off, and said "Okay, you can go now". I said "What about the broken bones in her neck"? They said "Oh, it was just a shadow on the X-ray".

Glad to be serving a God who can take care of "shadows".
