God is infinite and immutable [Eternal].

Now a cause is finite and temporal or it would not have caused anything.

    Those are two important truths.

Now an uncaused Cause would be both infinite and finite and both Eternal and temporal.

John 1:1-3, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

Now the Word was and is both God and with God.

And: John 1:3, "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.". Identifies the Word being God the uncaused Cause. And we know Him to be the Son of God. Colossians 1:15-18.

If you will, please explain this part (I'm not sure I understand what you mean).

Something caused is finite and temporal. It's cause only needs to be finite and temporal to cause it. So what ever caused it must be intentionally limited in it being the cause.

Now God is infinite and omnipresent.
    Genesis 3:8, ". . . the LORD God walking in the garden . . . .". Walking in the garden is a finite and temporal act. Colossians 1:15, ". . . Who is the image of the invisible God . . . .". John 1:18, ". . . No man hath seen God at any time; the only . . . Son, . . . hath declared him. . . ." Genesis 12:7, " . . . the LORD appeared unto Abram . . . ."
