Hello, My name is Wanda Whitehead

I am a member of 34 years of Cedar Grove Old Regular Baptist Church in Hallie, KY.

My Mom, Joy Whitaker Watts, is 88 years old and has been a member there for 45+years and my Dad, Green Watts, was a member until his death in 2000.

My grandfather, Roy Whitaker was also an ORB minister in the other "side" of the Indian Bottom Association until his death in 1975, as was 2 of his sons and several of his grandsons.

I love the ORB church but lately I have been attending the Good News Gospel Church in Letcher, KY. It is moderated by Richard Hampton who is also a cousin. My husband and I really love attending there and I am thinking that I may change my membership...I have a lot of praying to do before I definitely decide.

I am excited to correspond with all of you.

Hello and welcome aboard Sister, I know of one BB member, SovereignGrace, that is ORB (he has 'switched sides' since coming here), and I'm a Primitive Baptist as is tyndale1946.

Brother Elwood's side? I was a member of Little Martha that is in Brother Elwood's association. I am a member of a missionary baptist church now. But I love the ORB, and will always have a special place in my heart.

Brother Dixon is moderator at Cedar Grove. I went to IB's annual association as a delegate from 2009-2015. Brother Dixon is a fine Brother.

I have been to Little Dove, Little Hannah, Little Jewel, Emmanuel(in Haysi, Va), Bethany(in Kenova, WV), Left Beaver, Little Rosa, Little Mary(before they left the IB), and enjoyed myself many times.

I was blessed to preach at Little Jewl(was a member there until we armed off to form Little Martha), Little Hannah, Bethany, and Little Dove.

I haven't been to the ones you named but I have been to many ORB churches around in other associations as well, including the other "side" of Indian Bottom.

I have been to Old Beaver in the New Salem, Union and Cedar Bottom in the Union Association, as I was once in the Sardis Association.

I have a CD of Brother Danny preaching at the association in 2008. Little Mary would record them and make CDs.

... That's ok you Old Regular Baptist are alright with me... kyredneck and I have been on here awhile and I know a little about SG... We had a member on here called Old Regular and I believe his last name was Sloan... He really stirred the pot on here and he was quite the character... Just thought maybe you knew him... I have a bunch of cassettes my dad had recorded from the 1970's until recently. I also have CD copies of my grandpa Roy and his sons, nephews, and cousins singing that were on reels. They aren't great copies but the reels had degraded a lot.

I know several Sloan's (Slone's) Mike, Roy, Bordus are some that come to mind...

Well I went into the archives and maybe found him... Elder Michael Slone from Liberty Kentucky of Mt. Zion Church Of Jesus Christ and the father of six children... Last seen on here February 27th of this year... Just curious... Brother Glen

Brothers Roy and Mike belong at Mt. Olive. I have preached there twice. Up on the side of a hill. Wonderful place to go.

Also, I have preached at Rock Fork, right on the Floyd/Knott County line. Another wonderful place to attend.

Seeing that God led me to the Missionary Baptist church that is ~ 5 minutes from my house, I am content, and love it there. But I do miss the many wonderful Brothers and Sisters I used to worship with in the Indian Bottom.
