http://www.ghwebhosting.com is cheap and big storage space also. Have had a site with them for 2-3 months.

Local libraries, cities and counties sometimes have very cheap packages.

 

I've been with http://www.2mhost.com for a few years. VERY cheap, but VERY good.

 

I started hosting with echristian web hostingrecently and have been very satisfied with their features, reliablity, bandwidth, and awesome customer service. They are also very careful about the content of sites that I am co-hosted with.

 

Could somebody tell me what 'cheap' means in dollars and cents? I am a complete dumby about all this but should do something about it.

 

I get 60 hours connection and 10 meg at our library for 108 a year.

I am playing around with free hosting. I am pretty happy with www.bravenet.com (remember, anything free means they use yoru space to advertise) and you can get a free cover name (www.yourdomain.tk) and email forwarder to reflect the name of your site at www.dot.tk .

My bravehost site name is http://naaspreacher.bravehost.com but I use http://www.naaspreacher.tk as a pointer. It is VERY easy to use for beginners. You can always upgrade to a "real" domain name later.

Just something to look into if you are not going to be too fancy. A lot of free add ons as well, journals, guest books and maps, forums, etc.

 

http://www.icomm.ca (iComm) hosts non-profit organizations for free. Our church applied, was accepted, built a site and are extremely happy with it. iComm's tech support has been unmatched.

That is for 1 Gig traffic a month, 500MB storage, 5 email addresses, tons of great features, its also a LAMP solution (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP) so there are tons of cool apps you can use on your site. FTP access, etc.

Plus they threw in the domain registration free for the first year.

I used to see their ad banner on this site, I am not sure if they are still advertising here. That is how I found them.

 

Looks awesome enough have them bookmarked in case I need them, they are better than mine size wise.
