I'd like to see him hung. Just as much as I'd like to see Democrat gay pedophile Gerry Studds hung, and democrat gay-pimpin' Barney Frank put out to pasture.

There really isn't any political orientation to sexual orientation. Joe McCarthy, after all...

I hope we can all agree that homosexuality is each person's business, but pedophilia crosses the line. No child can give consent.

    It is sick

It is sad that this kind of sick stuff happens in Washington all the time. Both parties ( Democrats and Republicans) want to claim a moral high ground but it will never happen. So the leveraging and lieing continues and their is nothing honorable about being labled a politician.

More of the Same ole' Same ole'....

Until we decide collectively that ALL politicans are bad and we decide we're not going to take it any more, AND we decide that it's time for a change, what can you expect from Washington.

ALL Politicans are bad... Maybe some of them won't when they started, but the job will drive even the best man/woman to corruption and trouble.

It's a sad state our political system is in.. Is this really what our founding fathers wanted?

Oh well.... A side from all that, I agree with Brother Curtis. Hang them high, hand them all high if they're guilty!

I agree that pedophilia knows no political party. I just added the GOP bit since it seems the Dems are blamed for everthing here. And I also agree that homosexuality is a person's own business but that pedophilia is a societal issue.

I also think that not all politicians are bad, but I also think that power corrupts. These guys get to thinking they are above the law.

As for hang'em high, you guys know where I stand on the death penalty...squarely against it. But I do think we need to get them off the street.

Wrong, that is revisionistic thinking. Homosexuality is hated by the Lord and by those that love the Lord.

Pedophilia demands swift and sure punishment, with the guarantee that the perp will never commit such atrocities again.

All sin is hated by the Lord, and by those who love the Lord. But each persons sin is his own business. That it between him and God, and none of us is God.

I'm not without sin, myself. And I don't imagine my sins are somehow less displeasing to the Lord than yours or those of others.

That sick man will be prosecuted by the laws he helped pass.

I read the transcripts of his chat on abcnews.com. That is a sick old man and he should be locked away for many, many, many years. I don't care what political party he belongs to. Lock him up, throw away the key.

And with regard to former Congressman Foley's personal life, I hope he understands, and can experience, repentance and the grace of God's full forgiveness in Christ. That's what believers and those who love the Lord should be hoping and praying for, not for him to be "hanged high."

He did resign his position, which is exactly what he should have done. The lack of moral resolution on the part of Republican leadership in speaking up about this is disappointing, though I doubt it will change many minds with regard to their positions. The fact that Republican leaders apparently knew of this in advance, and said or did nothing until it actually came out is disturbing. The standard response from many in the Christian community, while clicking their tongues and wagging their heads, is to excuse the behavior by diverting attention to people in the other party who are "just as bad."

I hope the congressman finds repentance and redemption.

According to the news reports, they investigated in 2005 and the family involved refused to make the emails known. They said they weren't explicity but "overly friendly." Foley was warned by House leadership to immediately cease all contact.

So unless there is more to the story, it appears that the leadership did respond appropriately. Without the family making it known, there was not much more to do.

Is this not more evidence that both parties are out of control, and that we the people need to dismantle them and start over.
