Gorbachev warns world 'on brink of new cold war'

BERLIN (AP) -- Tensions between the major powers have pushed the world closer to a new Cold War, former Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev said Saturday.

The 83-year-old accused the West, particularly the United States, of giving in to "triumphalism" after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the dissolution of the communist bloc a quarter century ago. The result, he said, could partly be seen in the inability of global powers to prevent or resolve conflicts in Yugoslavia, the Middle East and most recently Ukraine.

"The world is on the brink of a new Cold War. Some are even saying that it's already begun," Gorbachev said at an event marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, close to the city's iconic Brandenburg Gate.

I don't think Putin is worried. Besides, they all collude together to rule the world.
Putin has some good ideas he's implemented in Russia but all in all he's KGB to the quick.

Personally, I'm not worried about a cold war.

If it warms up or gets hot then I'm concerned.

I'm sure that Obama is pleased with this being on the brink of a cold war? After all, he had the power and ability to stop it from progressing to that point. However, if anyone is experienced with what a cold war looks like, it is comrade Gorbachav.

I am sure, if the old saying that a person must be rolling in their grave .... Obama must have the graveyards across this country rockin' and rollin'! And I can sense that from Reagan to Washington, to Adams to Jefferson, to Lincoln, the bodies of our Constitutional framers and keepers must all be disappointed with the disregard for Constitutional law that Obama has so cleverly gone around since coming into office?
