Here's a few pics of a band I sat in with a while ago. The woman playing the dobro is my beautiful wife, Phyllis. I'm the guy with no hair.

The bass player is a woman named Charlene, and she could use your prayers as she fights cervical cancer.

The gig was in Hamilton, Montana.

    Curtis,

I cant read the brand of your guitar...but is it a Collings???

Also, what kind of dobro does your wife play?

    non-musical here:

Did they catch the cervical cancer early regarding Charlene? The reason I ask is that I have read that there is a very high rate of complete remission if caught early.

Unfortunetly my sister died of it because she didnt like going to doctors...so she never did. She died...believe it or not...about 3 weeks after she was diagnosed.

    I'll pray for her.

    Mike

It's a Bourgeois. Collings guitars are also very nice, though.

Phyllis' dobro was built by Tim Scheerhorn. A lot of collectors have tried to get a hold of it. But she ain't selling.

Char is very tight lipped about her illness. I do know the last bit of chemotherapy failed. A few weeks ago she was supposed to play with us, but couldn't stand. I know she is very sick. I also know she is saved, and trusts Christ to bring her through this, no matter the outcome. But she is a lot of fun to play with, and selfishly hope to have her around for a while.

    Curtis,

Bourgeois guitars are excellent. At one time both Ricky Skaggs and Bryan Sutton played them when Bryan was with Kentucky Thunder.

I imagine not! Scheerhorns are good 'uns!

Well bless her heart. I'm sorry to hear of that.
Its so good to know Christ in situations like this. To know that your eternal destiny is completly secured and death is only a momentary transition into eternal joy...what an unimaginably wonderful work God has done on our behalf!

    God bless,

    Mike

It breaks my heart to tell you all, my friend and music partner, Charlene Steele died yesterday, on her way to the hospital emergency room. I'll post up an obit when one is printed.

Thanx, Enoch. I just found out the service will be Friday, a simple sermon, & small graveside service.

I am so, so very sorry about your dear friend. That just makes me sick. But she is in the arms of Christ and is finally healed.

Those pictures are great and it looks like so much fun.
