I sat here this afternoon and actually figured out how to upload pictures to WebShots.

(you have to understand. I am a complete computer know nothing. For me to figure this out on my own is proof that God still does miracles!) :D

Anyway, here I am in living color. Yes I'm ugly, but I have a good time...

Actually, the vast majority of our bookings are at churchs, but these just happen to be 4 of the best photos I have of us.

D28,

Enjoyed your post as I did in another battle field ! ( you understand what I am saying!)

Now I am enjoying this music because I was grateful for this sung at the last sunday worship service in our chapel, as we break the bread every week.

O Christ, what burdens bowed Thy head!
Our load was laid on Thee;
Thou stoodest in the sinner’s stead,
Didst bear all ill for me.
A Victim led, Thy blood was shed;
Now there’s no load for me.

Death and the curse were in our cup:
O Christ, ’twas full for Thee;
But Thou hast drained the last dark drop,
’Tis empty now for me.
That bitter cup, love drank it up;
Now blessing’s draught for me.

Jehovah lifted up His rod;
O Christ, it fell on Thee!
Thou wast sore stricken of Thy God;
There’s not one stroke for me.
Thy tears, Thy blood, beneath it flowed;
Thy bruising healeth me.

The tempest’s awful voice was heard,
O Christ, it broke on Thee!
Thy open bosom was my ward,
It braved the storm for me.
Thy form was scarred, Thy visage marred;
Now cloudless peace for me.

Jehovah bade His sword awake;

Well, I'm disappointed because your site is forbidden here at school (an amazing number of things are :D ). I'll have to remember to check again when I get home.

mcdirector,

A site like WebShots is blocked? They dont promote anything...they just give people an opportunuty to store pictures there.

Oh well.

Mike, dobro is my all time favorite bluegrass instrument!!! You look like you know what you're doing.....I have played keyboards and have sung in bands for years. (country)

However, I do keep my church and my secular music very seperated.

Debbie,

"Mike, dobro is my all time favorite bluegrass instrument!!!"
The dobro is indeed the "coolest of the cool" isnt it? :D Its got such a "lonesome" and "old timey" sound to it.

"You look like you know what you're doing....."
People seem to enjoy the way I play.

"I have played keyboards and have sung in bands for years. (country)"
Theres nothing like it, is there?

I love playing live. I like the "risk" of it. The way we do it...actually with both of the bluegrass bands I've been a part of...is that nothing is planned. We never have a set-list. We dont even plan out who will take the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd solo breaks. Everything is spontanious and unplanned.

"However, I do keep my church and my secular music very seperated.
I've actually never played in a group that wasnt christian. The other groups I've played in..other than bluegrass..have been contemporary Praise and Worship bands. Usually I play electric guitar in those. I love contemporary music, but bluegrass is by far my favorite style of music.

But if I did play in a secular band I would want to know before joining what kind of secular music we will play. Love songs, folk songs, etc would be OK. But if its the really sinful stuff I'd just have to say "thanks but no thanks".

God bless,

Mike
