The word "gotchya" is weak and does not go far enough. What some want is a beat down. They want other posters with whom they disagree destroyed. Much like Ergun Caner.

Perhaps some posters want to destroy others, but it has been my experience that message boards like this are populated by certain individuals who just want to win at all costs. Their intentions are not as sinister as wanting to destroy people. However they do great damage by parading their ignorance without so much as a thought of the consequences. But this thread is not even about that. I am calling attention to backing one's opponent into a corner and then hoisting the flag of victory. We are not the judge and jury of our own arguments. God will judge both our theological understanding and our motives.

Although these are not biblical words, I have always cherished the words of Abraham Lincoln in his second inaugural address:

I post what I post because that is what I believe... Others want to post something different that is what they have been given to believe, and I leave it there... There can be constructive argumentation but few go there as has been by experience on the BB... But I believe this... Brother Glen

I don't think people come to debate their position...they just want to be told that they're right. I believe some are weak in their position (as evidenced by some discussions) and they want to convince themselves that they are right.
