Who's calling the shots here? It's obvious. CAIR is involved - again.

The Bush family has long and involved connections with various Arab power-brokers.

Why would they be expected to tolerate someone who criticized Islam?

It seems that Moslems also live in Florida. I can see how Jeb Bush would want his appointee to not discriminate against certain residents there, at least not so loudly.
I can see how Floridian Moslems might be a tad offended.

The constitution says that there shall be no religious tests for offices (paraphrase) - since the 14th Amendment wouldn't that apply to state offices as well?

You know, if large groups of Baptists were running around murdering people, instead of demanding silence from those being critical, I would stand up and shout from the rooftops that these Baptists need to stop doing that and that that's not what Baptists do and...

Sounds like Strom Thurmond talking about equal rights for blacks. There's rich irony in this one.

Oh. I guess I missed the report of large groups of black American Moslems were running around murdering people in Florida and elsewhere.

Some Moslems in Iraq might think that large numbers of American Christians are running around murdering people with bombs and planes and mines, but they would be mistaken, wouldn't they?

You'd be fine with mullahs and organizations like CAIR criticizing Christians for devastating their cities and countryside...ok.

The title of the thread is not clear...

Bush asked him to step down from the County Nominating Committee, not to step down as a preacher.

The point is, CAIR was involved. Whenever CAIR is involved, first amendment rights of non-muslim Americans are violated and the rights of employers (such as Dell in Nashville) become violated. CAIR is partially funded by terrorist groups. CAIR seeks to make America a muslim nation under which sharia law is practiced. As long as people, including politicians and employers, give into the pressure from CAIR crying "racist" - then all non-muslim Americans are at risk from these "legal" terrorist groups like CAIR which seek to make America a muslim state and impose sharia law on the rest of us. Give the devil a foothold and it will become a stronghold.

“Let there be no doubt that the Council on American-Islamic Relations
is a terrorist supporting front organization that is partially funded
by terrorists, and that CAIR wishes nothing more than the
implementation of Sharia law in America.”

How does the mere fact of CAIR's involvement violate anyone's civil rights? How is any employer's rights been violated in this particular case?

Glad you asked....Because of CAIR's pressure, the Governor asked this man to step down from his position. This man's American Constitutional 1st Amendment Rights were violated - freedom of speech. CAIR has a history of defeating Constitutional 1st Amendment Rights. Because true islam does not permit freedom of speech in muslim countries and that is the goal of CAIR in America - to stiffle freedom of speech under the guise of bigotry and racism. Here's another prime example:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/22/AR2005082201255.html

    Two more articles about CAIR:

    http://www.meforum.org/article/916

The reference I made to employer's rights being violated was Dell.

    http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9584_22-5623543.html

Employers are being pressured to "submit" to the demands of their muslim employees through CAIR, a radical islamic terrorist group that wishes to turn America into a muslim state.

There is no constitutional guarantee that an employer can't chose to fire an at-will employee, but they are expected to reasonnably accommodate their employee's religious practices.

Dozier was a liability to his employer who chose to fire him. Same for Graham (how did he get into this discussion??). Their employers chose to fire them.

Dell chose not to fire its employees.

It's not clear to me how United Arab Emirates served as a "launching pad" for the 9-11 hijackers. I thought they learned to fly here in America and that they caught their respective lethal planes here in America. Who did the US recognise as Afghanistan's government in 2001? If I knew, I don't remember.

When the dots are connected, the common denominator in these examples is CAIR involvement.
