Let's see how many great players, any team sport, we can name who played for poor teams for at least part of their careers.

    Here are a few:

    Archie Manning, pro football
    Jim Parker, pro football
    Ferguson Jenkins, pro baseball
    Selmon brothers, pro football(at first.)
    Pete Maravich, college basketball
    Ernie Banks, pro baseball

Archie Manning, Barry Sanders and Ernie Banks are the ones that automatically come to my mind.

Walter Payton for the first few years of his career in Chicago was on some awful teams.

Dale Murphy was on some terrible teams in Atlanta.

Do you Think Roger Clements is talking to himself yet? I can't believe the Astros are that bad, but then, I'm the eternal optimist.

Roger coulda retired with honor several years ago, but I reckon the competitive fires that got him to greatness were still burning. Whenever he does retire, it'll still be with honor.
