Yep, put the mothers and fathers out of work so kids can be hired for less. Way to go GOP conservatives.

A think tank funded by Donald Trump’s Secretary of Education pick recently advocated for putting kids back in the workforce.

The Acton Institute, a conservative nonprofit that is said to have received thousands of dollars in donations from Betsy DeVos and her family, posted an essay to its blog this month that called child labor “a gift our kids can handle.”

I was mowing yards at ten. Would be good for them to get out and make some money as long as they're treated right.

Each one of my kids have been working before age 16 doing babysitting, helping friends with home construction, raking leaves and the like. At age 16, they are on the books in official jobs with W-2s and a paycheck. My son turned 16 on Halloween and was hired by our church to be one of the main custodians. My oldest daughter held her supermarket job for 10 years until she got her full time teaching job - even working at the grocery store when she was subbing full time. My second daughter is going to grad school for her doctorate and she's doing her internships - and still working at the grocery store as well. I want my kids to be workers - and hard workers at that. It is good for them to have a responsibility and to earn a paycheck. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this.

Of course in the article, we see that it is the NEA who is really complaining about this. Not that THEY have an agenda or anything.

You know, if the "carpet bagger wannabe" left continues to have hissey fits over all incidental/fabricated stuff like they are now doing against Trump, when something that may be truly worth investigating pops up it will be ignored -- except for the whiners, cause nothing they say will be relevant anymore.:Laugh
