Guess who aren't supporting the troops, and want a withdrawal this year.

Supporting your troups (and ours!) and wanting them home aren't mutually exclusive items.

I'm not sure of the credibility level of the people who did the survey, but the figures quoted seem similar to others I've seen. (maybe they were quotes from this survey, not sure) None seem unrealistic.

Zogby has a good reputation as a pollster.

 

If you are in 120 degree heat, wearing armor, etc. and you are asked the simple question, "Would you like to go home within a year?" what would you say?

And yes I agree Zogby is a "good" polster if there is such a thing these days. He isn't known for framing questions to tilt results.

Most troops support the efforts there and would simply ask for more troops to seal off the borders from Syria, and Iran.

Um, no. Not Zogby. IIRC, his prediction was that the election was Kerry's to lose. In short, Kerry had the edge.

Kerry muffed it by not replying early and vigorously to Bush's "Swift Boats" slander. Although most people now realized what happened, at the time, many believed Bush's people.

I have my own concerns about Zogby, in that if you have the money, he will do a poll to your specs.

The "even scientists at Sandia lab support intelligent design" scam was abetted by a poll he produced, although the Discovery Institute has withdrawn it as misleading.
