Has anyone here ever read a book by the title of

"The Day of the Lord is at Hand", by Benjamin Baruch??? It is a book about prophesy and as I understand it, he contradicts what we have traditionally believed about the coming tribulation and the end of days.

There is a website but it doesn't reveal any of the answers. I suppose you have to buy the book to get at that information. But if anyone here has already read it perhaps you could reveal its contents regarding:

THE CHURCH IN AMERICA HAS BEEN DECEIVED
The church in America is looking for the second coming of Jesus with the following assumptions and expectations:

The signs of Matthew 24:6-8 represent the signs that we are in the last days.

1-A union of 10 nations will rise to global power representing a revived Roman Empire.

2-The anti-Christ will rise to power and sign a 7 year peace treaty with the nation of Israel marking the beginning of the Great Tribulation - a 7 year time period.

3-America is strangely absent from the prophetic writings.

4-The church will be raptured out of the earth before the beginning of the 7 year tribulation.

5-The church is looking forward to a great end time revival before the hour of judgment begins.

Each of these commonly held views are wrong and are based upon vain thinking with no scriptural basis whatsoever. These errors will be addressed and corrected through the course of this text. Some will dismiss this message, refusing to believe the leadership of the Church could be deceived. Yet the LORD warned us specifically to “take heed that no man deceive you.” The LORD does not give idle warnings, for the warnings and admonitions of the LORD are themselves prophecy of what would come. The LORD is actually saying: “In the last days, the majority will be deceived, take heed that it doesn’t happen to you!” Not only is deception of the church possible, it was prophesied to happen! “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

In many of today’s churches the pastor has been exalted to the position of authority and teacher, while the other offices are missing. This is not the Biblical model. In this last hour, the LORD is restoring the five-fold ministry to the true Church. Prophecy has not ended with the writings of the New Testament, and the LORD still speaks to His people. The modern Church has been deceived in so many ways. There are two prophets coming at the time of the end. These are the two witnesses, who shall prophesy against the nations for 1,260 days, and then they will be martyred. The ministry of prophecy obviously continues to the very end of the age. Remember Daniel prophesied that men with wisdom who understood these things would come and give insight to the many. In order to understand these mysteries, you must hear from GOD.

And when the LORD speaks to you, who can but prophesy? I have been able to hear the voice of the LORD from my youth. I was surprised to learn recently that the majority of Christians have never heard His voice. From my earliest experience as a believer, hearing the voice of the LORD was a normal part of my walk of faith. I will share with you three instances, not to lift myself up, but to confirm to you, dear reader, I am a man who hears from GOD. These words also contain a prophetic message for you as well.

I ONLY WANTED TO MOVE YOU
In 1977, the LORD spoke to me one morning saying, “I want you to go to the World Evangelism conference in San Diego. Do not seek directions, for I will lead you as you drive your car.” I obeyed the LORD and when the day came, I began to drive to San Diego. I said to the LORD “I am on the freeway now, and all I know is to drive to San Diego and you promised to direct me. LORD please don’t let me get lost.” The LORD answered immediately, but He didn’t mention the directions: “I have cancelled your hotel reservation...” Then He paused and I said nothing. The LORD continued “and they have given your room away...” Again He paused as if waiting for me to respond but I would not answer. “And the hotel is full.” That was all. My reservation cancelled my room gone, and the hotel full. I didn’t know what to say, so I looked up to heaven and thought, “What do you want me to do, sleep in my car?” He spoke again. “When you get to the hotel, don’t get upset, just sit in the lobby and wait for me. I will get you a room. I only wanted to move you.” When I got to the hotel, the manager and the desk clerk were very upset. I had a confirmed reservation, and they had a full hotel! I told them “Don’t worry, I am sure you will find me a room, I’ll just sit in the lobby and wait.”

I would stay far away from this one. If you want a different view of prophecy, try something by Ken Gentry or Gary DeMar.

If you visit, Benjamin Baruch's website (www.thedayofthelordisathand) he quotes quite a bit from his book. I've actually litened to both is radio programs. He sounds believable at first, until you hear him quote God as "yelling at him" and that God "argues with him".. I was doing a search to see if there were any more information about him and found some interesting information about him at. This guy had emailed Baruch and caught him on some lies

He says that America is modern day Babylon and that we will be nuked. California, Florida, Las Vegas, etc... mainly coastal cities. He even says that God has warned his remnant the true church to flee America (Babylon) and to run to Isreal! Unbelievable. I haven't heard anyone else point out that the scriptures in Revelations tell us the church to leave (flee) for Isreal. Has anyone else? This is something that I will study more in depth. I've never thought of this before, but in the book of Exodus, God does lead his children into another country. I've just finished reading the book of Revelations this week (after reading Baruch's prophesies) to compare, and now I'm going to read it again. There are so many unanswered questions.

Anyone who says those things have no scriptural basis is clearly deluded. We might argue about the validity of the conclusions drawn from the basis, but the basis is clearly there.

This nonsense about God speaking to him is clearly indicative of someone who is not listening to Scripture. I would stay far away from this book.

Isn't it amazing how these men have a corner on the market that nobody else understands?

They are so in tune with God that their brain needs no power. For if it did they might have to think. They forgot that to study means to engage the brain for at least a moment.

Don't waste your time reading that book. Read the Bible.
