Maybe not. At the height of the weird lawsuit stuff, I worked as an engineer for an insurance company. One convenience store chain had this claim...

A man walked into one store, and pulls out a .38 and demands cash. Abdul, the clerk, had a weapon himself and pulls it out. He shoots the guy twice while he's standing there, an once more as he's trying to flee.

The last shot nicked his spinal cord and he ends up a parapleigic. And he sues. Can no longer work in his profession.

Our lawyers offer (big sum). He turns it down. Wants more. Lawyers experience an attack of backbone, and refuse. The jury gave him nothing.

Every now and then, we won one.

 

Wow, he might just win. Since we no longer look to God and the Bible as the source of any of our law, injustice prevails!

Anyone can sue anyone for any reason, that doesn't mean they will win. You seem to always take the worse possible scenario and act like there is no other possibility.

Oh, and by the way, everything bad that happens is not because of God's impending judgment over abortion and sodomy!

 

Which is why the police have a saying, "Dead men can't tell lies in court." Or "Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6."

 

This just about sums it up. I especially like the last sentence. It seems as if everything can be packaged in neat little packages caused by abortion, sodomy or even the country turning away from God.

It is possible this man could win his lawsuit. Several factors come into play and one of those may be that the judge does not allow the jury to hear the fact that he obtained a jail sentence for his robbery. If you think this is too wild to be true guess again. It is often possible for the victim of an accident to get a mis-trial based on the fact that someone mentions that he/she was the guilty party causing the accident. It is considered an unrelated factor which might prejudice the jury. Often this depends on the judge.

There was also a case where a man climbed into a building where he had robbed it 3 times in the past. The owner wired up a screen wire to 110 Volts and placed it in the attack where the man gained entrance from the back of the building. The man was killed, the family collected a healthy amount of money since the resulting act went too far (in the court's opinion) by killing the man since he was only robbing the store.

These things happen all of the time.

I live in our state's maximum security prison town. Prisoners file just about 80 percent of the lawsuits in our local county court. Sometimes they win. Most of the time they are thrown out as frivilous.

Remember that the law requires a complete and up-to-date legal library made available to prisoners in order for them to work on their own cases. Does any of you (who are not professional attorneys) have access to an up-to-date legal library; plus the time on your hands to sit day and night and think of strategy to win a lawsuit?

Ridiculous, isn't it?
