In the first place a few years ago our church split and that is always a bad thing. I am not perfect by no means. I smoke too much which i know that i should not do that but started when i was 23 and am 58 now. I do not drink and i have never done any type of drugs except regular cigarettes. I would not know a drug if it was right in front of me. 17 years algo i had been working at a local tavern for 15 years as a waitress and had not worked since 1987 until 2 years ago July when i started working for T.A Truck Stop serving just food no hard drinks. When Larry became so ill i stopped working the first of this last June. They kept me on the pay roll and i could have started right back to work right after he passed but i just could not stand the public at that point. Then in November I worked a couple of times and then this past week i worked a few hours a day for three days. Well a few weeks ago i called the tavern that i used to work at 17 years ago and ask if they needed any waitress help and they said no but would keep me in mind. They ask if i had license, well i said why no i have not had license since i worked there years ago. When i got off the phone i thought what have i got myself into. I had not thought about the fact i would have to serve the hard drinks again to work there. I am not sure that my faith will allow me to do this anymore. My daughter said well mom you worked there for 15 years a long time ago, has your faith changed since then? I said YES! When i worked there before it was just a job no more no less. God has been so good to me and i do not want to do anything against that. Do you think this would be wrong in God's eyes? See i got that call last night from the tavern wanting me start working for them and is i said that i would have to think about it and would get in touch. In the first place an 8 hour shift is too much for me anymore. I done that at the truck stop for 2 years and now the truck stop will use me for fill in for a few hours a day which what i would rather do. We had no health insurance and all of a sudden my husband being so ill and in and out of the hospital and we did not even know what he had wrong until the end of June. The only thing i can tell you is God works in mysterious ways. He was with us through it all and is still with me all the way. Thanks for lisening, Eugenia

    Eugenia,

Take it to the Lord. Ask Him what He would have you do.

(I think you already have His answer)

    In Christ,
    Trotter

Thank you Trotter. I know you are right. Just as well forget that whole idea. That is something that i worked that all those years and never thought anything about it and now there is just no way that i can consider doing this. You see the truth is I knew way before Larry passed away that God had a plan for me and i thought i would probably find out what that plan was the first part of this year. I never left my husband in the hospital alone wheather it was a week or two and a hafe weeks, i always stayed with him and while i was there God worked through me quite often talking with other people. Some just regular patients, some from the mental part of the hospital, one alcoholic drying out. My work was cut out for me between my husband being so ill, God working through me with other people, and the fact of so much paper work over no health insurance which the hospital wrote completely off thanks to the good lord. Well i guess i have talked enough for now. Thanks again, Eugenia

I'm praying for you Eugenia, that God will strengthen your faith. Call upon Him.

Psalm 86:7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.

    Hi again,
You are on the right track. Trust in God. He knows how to take care of you. He's had a lot of practice, eh? You take care of His reputation in your life, and He'll take care of you for life. He is totally trustworthy -- you are in 'good hands'! I'm glad you recognize the change in yourself and encourage you to keep looking to Him for direction for every moment of your life. There is nothing in your life too small for Him to know or care about. Or help with.
