Why in an American forum? There are only a couple of Brits in here.

    Cheers,

Nope. But my squad leader in basic training was English. A big guy. In the old old days he would've been a grenadier.

When I was in high school, when they first let homosexuals join the military, I almost considered joining the Canadian Army. Of course, that was before I found out how liberal their government was. Besides, it would be un-American for me to move to another country because I don't like what is going on here. I feel like (or at least hope) that some day things will change for the better.

I am sure you are better off. It would have taken you five years to become a Canadian, and then you might be able to apply.

Our governments keep changing anyways and liberal up here is not the same as democrat in the USA. Look at the present conservative government. It is a minority and virtually controlled by the other parties: liberal, socialist and Quebecois party.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I also know a person who moved here from Canada (I work with her). She used to live near Toronto. She said that getting a job there was extremely difficult if you couldn't speak French & English fluently. I'm guessing that's part of why she moved here is because she can't speak French.
