Have such an ingrained dislike for the hyper-liberal, pro-Nazi Helen Keller that I simply have no time to see something that "glorifies" such a person.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Keller was a socialist. The Nazis burned her books.

Keller was a communist sympathizer (not a nazi, my mistake). She hung a Russian flag covering her doorway so that all who walked in had to bow under it. She was rabid and anti-American to the core.

Miracle Worker is actually the story of Ann Sullivan and is very good (Helen is her child student, not the #$%^ she turned into).

BTW, everybody tries to be politically correct and never say anything negative about her. So that's why we've never heard how liberal she was.

I read the book long before I saw the movie and was deeply moved by Annie's story. (The scene in which her brother dies in the poorhouse is still with me.)

I saw the play last night, and actually, it seemed to be more about Anne Sullivan than it did Keller.

I still enjoyed it, and I wanted to tell Keller's family to get a grip several times.

    Keller was a communist sympathizer

so was the early church. ;) i'm much more forgiving of such beliefs held before history demonstrated how hideously dangerous they are, at least on a modern national scale. when did helen keller live?

I noticed that Alabama has chosen Helen Keller to be on the state quarter honoring that state. Wonder how she beat out Bear Bryant?
