"He Shall Save His People From Their Sins"

“The JESUS who actually saved his people from their sins, through his finished work ALONE and a Jesus who wants to save everybody, but is unable to do so unless and until they allow him to do so are not two sides of the same coin, or the same person, understood differently.

One is a glorious Saviour, Redeemer, Substitute, Surety, Mediator and the very Righteousness of those he represented in the everlasting covenant of God's grace. The other is a damnable idol of men's imaginations who saves no one.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

"His People" here is NOT the "elect" as it has been suggested by some; but the Jewish Nation. This is is the same in John 1:11-12

"He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become Children of God, to those who believe in His Name"

"His own", the Jewish Nation

@SavedByGrace you have to understand that @KenH and a few others on the BB only have a limited number of verses to work with so they cling to them with an iron grasp. Context is only secondary.
