    Just a heads up, if you get involved in the Vista 64 bit operating system there most likely will be driver problems. When something requires Vista, it may work in the 32 bit version but not the 64 bit version.

    I bought a tv pci card and the drivers will kind of work now and then but never with any real regularity.

    Some of my old standby programs are the same way, they won't work or take more work that usual to get working.

    I get Windows 7 upgrade free when it is available, will see it they worked out any of the kinks. :thumbsup:

    Very few TV tuner cards work with Vista 64-bit. The companies making them haven't put out drivers for them. They reason that if they don't furnish the driver the consumers will have to go buy a new card.

    Outside of tuner cards I haven't hit anything else that lacked for drivers... provided the component or peripheral was fairly new. It is at best a crap-shoot with older stuff, though.

    Yes, fairly new is the key :) which does not fit most of my equipment :)

    I tried Vista about a year ago and failed after six months of trying. Mostly due to drivers as near as I could tell.

    Hauppauge has some boards that work 64 but you are right on - newer ones.

    Have succombed to running an xp rig in the garage for the security stuff that vista won't do rather than buying more software. The software I have does just fine and the newer stuff is kind of spendy. Have to run a few wires out there but should work fine and use vnc to control things - if vnc works cross platform - haven't tried that as yet:thumbsup:
