Hello All

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the group. I look forward to our discussions.

I am really terrible at this stuff, but please feel free to ask me anything.

I have been a Christian for 30 yrs. now, have pastored, went to seminary etc.

I adhere to the 5 Solas of the Reformation, and the regulative principle. I am not a believer in "Music Ministry" (I understand corporate worship to be the "people of God coming together to worship the Lord together ascribing honor, glory and majesty to the King of Kings) nor "Age Segregated Ministry", neither am I a fan of the Patriarchy Movement nor the NCFIC (National Center for Integrated Churches). I especially despise "Youth Ministry" (I do not understand Youth Ministry and it's relevance to the Bride of Christ)

I am in the automotive industry and work with National Pastors in several countries (by sending books, helping with seminars, and online training)including: Uganda, Kenya. Rwanda, Ghana, India, Nepal and the Philippines. Oh, and Peru!

Have a great day

Grace and peace

Bill

Welcome aboard. Although in full disclosure I doubt you and I will see much eye to eye. I am very much in favor of music ministry, and even more so a youth ministry. Just like I am a prison ministry, nursing home ministry, Spanish ministry, etc.

But, I promise to keep it civil. (Was going to say, "if you do", but those that know me know that I don't like to be uncivil.)

Hey Sapper!!

You misunderstand, I am very much for Prison Ministry, Nursing Home etc. I believe in the Regulative Principle for Worship which means that in worship that We are to only do what the Bible prescribes ie God is to be the focal point and He has told us how to worship Him ie, Songs, Reading Scripture, Prayer, Communion, giving, etc. Those who adhere to the Regulative Principle believe that God tells us how to worship Him and that He/God is the focal point of worship.

One of the primary passages is regarding Nadab and Abihu, they made an offering, but God had not told them to do so in the OT. There are 2 basic principles of worship the Normative (M Luther) and the Regulative (J Calvin). Normative says that we can do whatever as long as the Bible does not forbid it. The Regulative says that God has told us how to worship Him.

Welcome to the board!!

When I see "cat", I think of "catamaran". LOL - We're boaters and we think differently. ;)

Thanks for the welcome!!

The name comes from my HS mascot "maroon" and that I am from KY, hence a wildcat fan. The 79 comes from a specific yr :) It makes me feel old to think about it

Thanks again

Wecome aboard the good ship BB. Can't always promise smooth sailing though. But may your voyage be adventurous.

You're from the Bible Belt Buckle!

Hello Rippon

Thanks for the welcome

I am not from Greenville SC. I was actually born in Western KY (Greenville--don't worry you have never heard of it unless you know the John Prine Song about Muhlenberg Co!! lol). Anyways, I grew up in Madisonville KY, then moved to the Grand Canyon (I was converted here by reading the Bible) for about 1 yr, then to Casa Grande AZ (1984), back to Madisonville (84-86) to finish my Bachelor's Degree. then to Memphis (seminary at MABTS (86-89)), from 86-92), then Indianapolis (92-2013), Greenville area (2013-14).

Boring story and you probably do not care. Greenville SC is the greatest place to live ever outside of the Grand Canyon. I love it here.

BTW, the marooncat is from HS mascot (Maroons) and I am a UK Wildcat fan (football only), hence marooncat, the 79 is from the yr that I graduated, so yes I am old!!
