When asked if I was a Baptist or non-Baptist Christian I didn't know how to answer. I've been active in several Baptist churches depending where I was living at the time. Anyway, I'm happy to be here.

Since I labelled myself as 'non-Baptist' does that mean I can't participate in several of the forums?

It does. Tell us what you believe about baptism, maybe the mods will give you a do over.

    First,
When I lived in Milwaukee from 76-77, I went to an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church. When I lived in Franklin NH I went to an American Baptist Church. That one was a bit too liberal for me.

Baptism. I believe in immersion and that it's an outward sign of an inward change. It symbolizes the old man being put to death and a new life in Christ going forth.

I'm probably in agreement with Baptist doctrine more than any other. I try to maintain a neutral position both with religion and politics. It's easier to keep the peace that way. However, my politics and 'Christianity' have certainly been leaning more to the right than center lately.

Any chance of changing it so I can be a full participant?

I don't have many options where I live, and I don't drive much anymore. There's a Trinity Baptist Church on the other side of town that I like but my friend and I had an issue with them in the past. About 20 years ago they advertised some kind of musical program on their sign outside and we were turned away at the door because we weren't members. NH is loaded with Denominational Churches. The closest one to me is a Church of Christ, but my musical talents aren't appreciated there because they don't use instruments. There are about 5 Congregational churches and have gone to one that's not too bad, but they are way too liberal and some are "open and affirming." None of the Denominational churches are doing well in NH. I attended a few non-denominational churches but none of them strike a nerve with me. Some are way too flamboyant for me. So I've been church hopping lately. I've been in this town for a short time like less than a year, but lived in nearby towns off and on.

I meant to welcome you earlier, Brother. This is a great place to discuss our views in a friendly environment. We don't always agree on doctrine, but there's no reason we can't treat each other as brothers in Christ.
