My name is Cavell I am 22, I was raised a Southern Baptist by my mother but I have recently relocated to London England with my wife. We haven't discovered any baptist churches that we feel at home in so we have been attending a Pentecostal church for the last month but I still identify as a baptist. Has anyone else been a Southern Baptist and moved out of America? What church did you find was similar or feel at home in? My wife is actually a Methodist but we went to baptist church together in America before moving.

Cavell, glad to have you on board here at Baptist Board.

To answer your question - check out this link for the International Baptists Convention.

The IBC could be somewhat loosely be considered a SBC State convention. Most of the initial churches were formed by American Military personnel. Since the Wall has fallen and Military units have moved out several of the churches have disbanded. The emphases is now "international" churches - in that, many churches are mulit-national. (a few of the churches are still a majority of a military families)

There are at least three SBC churches in the vicinity of London. Let us know how things worked out.

Unfortunately those churches would be over a 2 hour drive from out home so it wouldn't be possible for my wife and me to attend

Welcome to the BB... I hope the Lord helps you solve your problem... Like Squire said we have brethren here from across the pond (U.K.) I wouldn't concern myself about contacting them because I assure you they will soon contact you... Brother Glen:)

Cavell, welcome to the Baptist Board. Hope it is a useful tool for you, and that you might be able to find a Baptist church you can attend in the London area. Maybe Ian Day or Martin Marprelate might be able to help you. Here are a couple groups I am aware of, but I don't know exactly where there churches are, or just what they are like:
Grace Baptist Assembly
Old Baptist Union

Hello Cavel,
Welcome to the BB and to England.
Here is a list of Bible-believing Independent churches in and around London.
Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches
Although not all of them have 'Baptist' in their name, in practice, just about all of them will be baptistic.

If you will let me know which area of London you're living in, I may be able to help you further.
