Help with XP

I just went from ME to XP and I'm having a problem finding everything. It is a refurbished computer and did not come with a book.

"Favorites" used to be in my start menu (ME).

With XP, it is on my tool bar.

How can I get it moved to my start-up menu?

Thanks,
§ue

I dunno how to move it, Sue, but I could probably find it given a little while.

I just wanted to welcome you and your "new" 'puter to the world of the Lazy Man's Windows.

Just keep your updates current.

Sue, click on Start/ Settings/ Taskbar and Start Menu/ Start menu/ Customize/ click on Favorites/ Apply/ Okay

OR do the same but go to classic and advanced and add Favorites there.

You will then want to uncheck some of the things it adds for you.

Thanks Trotter - I think. LOL

I also can't get my browser to open a page in a new window. I have it checked 'do not reuse' the same window, but it does it anyway.

Any suggestions?

Blessings,

We found it and fixed it. Now if we could just help with Trotter's animations and Sheila's dissertation!

Trotter's got a thread about it. His daughter previewed a movie and after that none of his avatars or animations will work.

Still don't. And I've got the whiz-kids at Tech-Forums.net stumped as well. But I also have some of them working on it.

They have a HiJackThis sub-forum. You use the HiJackThis program to take a picture of what is running in your sysytem, and post the log. The people who know what they are doing look it over to see if something has gone amiss.

That's the theory, anyway.
