    My son broke his hip today at school. He was a typical teenager and didn't think he could get hurt. He jumped from the bleachers to the basketball hoop, grabbed the rim and then lost his grip. He landed just right to break his hip. Thank God he had no other broken bones or internal injuries.

    The break was serious enough that he was in surgery three hours after hitting the ER. The school didn't think it was that serious and Jeanne almost just took him to the walk in clinic instead of the ER. That would have just pushed back surgery. The Dr. says that with this type of bread it is important to get into surgery ASAP. Everything went well and the bones fit back together easily. There is up to a 50% chance that there will be a problem with the blood supply to the hip. If this happens it could lead to further surgery and possibly to hip replacement. That problem could occur anytime in the next two years, but the longer he goes without it happening the less likely it is to happen.

    Will will (that looks weird) most likely be in the hospital until Thursday. Please pray for him and for our entire family.

    Oh my stars! If these kids won't give you grey hairs, I don't know WHAT will!!

    I'll be praying for Will that he will heal quickly and without complication.

    I'll also be praying for you and Mrs. Bill that you guys would have the strength to get through the next weeks with a teenager who needs to take it easy. LOL

    will be back on his feet and have
    a complete recovery from his injured
    hip.
