Hillary Clinton was just on ABC news. This Hillary Clinton was given an interview (free campaign air time) to begin her campaign run. She sounds different from the Hillary that said there was a right wing conspiracy trying to ruin her family.

"WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, Jan. 27) -- First lady Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday firmly denied allegations that her husband had an affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky."

What has this woman been smoking?

I've heard of denial before, but this is ridiculous.

You know . . . she has never apologized.

. . . and she is still for infanticide.

But, she doesn't sound like the "I hate people that tell truth" woman of just 10 years ago.

She has had a decade to apologize . . . that is slander.

Misreading a post (if he did) is not slander.

Your calling his responce slander is well . . . . daisyish.

    It was a joke, Daisy.

Why do liberals have such a poor sense of humor?

BTW I believe Hillary was putting on an act in 1998. She knew. She has always known. Bill's reputation was well known. Either she knew or she really was in denial.

Since you seem to agree with me, why did you consider it "slander" earlier when I said " I've heard of denial before, but this is ridiculous"?

Apologize for what? I would guess that there are a lot of women who deny that their husband had an affair. I would guess that there are several women in your church who do that. Have they all apologized to the congregation?

Those were two different statements. The original seemed to say that she remained, to this day, in ridiculous denial - the 'ridiculous' indicating a disbelief on your part that it was denial - while the second one* said she might have been in denial in 1998.

    That's why.

*second in the thread, but first in the quote in this post

I agree, your would expect a wife to believe her husband until proof otherwise is presented. Especially if your hubby is as high profile as the president of the US.

I rather like Mrs. Clinton. I met her in a hand-shaking period when she was campagning in Watertown, NY. Here I was a Canadian who could not serve her political goals, and yet she gave me time, answered my questions and even posed some questions of her own. She had no reason to put on face with me.

I wish her well, even though one of her ideas is not in favour of Canada.

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. I am not liberal, but rather a democratic socialist....Does that make me evil too?

Seemed? There was no hidden meaning.

Sometimes your logic is hard to follow, Daisy.

Ah, but how would I have known that without your stating such?

It's only hard to follow if you're determined not to. It's mere caution born of endless discussions of some posters' taking offense when their meaning was mistaken (they can't simply make a correction but they have to accuse the mistaker of lying, dissembling, and all kinds of nastiness) - I really wanted to avoid *sigh* that kind of diversion from discussing the actual issues - thus the "seemed".

Perhaps it is unavoidable, but I tried. That you can argue against my saying that something "seemed" to me...well, that seems pointlessly, tiresomely, unnecessarily argumentative.

I went back and read the thread . . .

You have me totally confused. You accused Carpro of slander . . . but, you meant me?

That does not make sense - if you do not like what I posted - Truth - then argue with the truth of the statement. But, to defend yourself against the truth of my statement by calling someone else a slanderer really does not make sense.

    IMHO.

    Now back to the OP.

This sounds like two different Hillarys. And while her rhetoric of 'hate-mongering' by the right was most acute with her 'defense' of that man that did not cheat on her. This interview did not sound like her previous self. Why is she trying to re-invent herself? If she was OK then, then there should not be a need to re-invent herself.

Has she truly had a religious experience and converted from her previous self?

What has happened to have Hillary soften her rhetoric? Has she had sensitivity training? Does she have a new speech coach or writer?

PS - I regret not specifically repeating the obvious . . . Hillary was on ABC news this week September 2006 and the cnn article was 1998.
