    It is a fact of life that women will tear up and speak emotionally about what we feel strongly about at least some of the time.

    OK. So is there anybody here who doesn't believe it was staged?

    To quote Chris Rock, "I've seen better actin' from 'Tough Actin' Tinactin'!"

    Since she wants to be one of the boys so badly, I wonder if the Democrats will scorn her for crying the way they did Ed Muskie?

    I'm not a Hillary supporter. I'm not a Democrat supporter. I didn't think it sounded staged. I thought her answer sounded prepared, but not the way it was presented.

    I'm not an emotional person - I've been accused of just the opposite, but this last year has been very emotional and I have delivered some perfectly normal talks just the way that Hillary did in that little interview.

    She's tired. I do think she believes a lot of what she says. I do think she's passionate about much of what she believes in.

    I would actually like to believe that, but I just can't. To me it reeks of a staged cry to try to relate to voters and gain their vote.

    A good way to get women's votes, show she can relate to them after all we all cry and get emotional, yeah right, I don't beleive it at all.

    NO! While I understand it, it would never cause me to vote for her. I was just pointing out that it's natural - so is wearing clothes or eating or well, lots of things. I'm not going to vote for someone because of those things. She brushes her teeth too doesn't she?

    Never mind the man she's married to, Hillary Clinton isn't big on feelings. "Unthinking emotion," she wrote a friend in college, "has always been pitiful to me." In "For Love of Politics," Sally Bedell Smith's new book on Bill and Hillary Clinton's marriage during their White House years, the First Lady is a woman determined not to surrender to emotion, even when her husband and the nation have. While President Clinton idles away an hour hugging his way through a rope line at a Democratic Leadership Council fund-raiser, his wife, backstage, waits patiently to depart. As the president admits on TV to an affair with Monica Lewinsky, the First Lady waits in the White House solarium and greets staffers with a smile. Chelsea, the dutiful daughter, tries hard to mimic mom: "Emotions aren't rational," she tells friends.

    Well, carpro, that was why I pointed out in an earlier post that I'm not notably emotional either - but there are times. I know that I'm not as cold and calculating as some students and parents have accused me of being.

    I do realize I'm in the minority here AND may well have been snookered by her. One thing I've learned this year is that while I do want to be discerning, I don't want to be distrustful. I don't like her. I don't want her to be president. It may well have been a ploy, but there is a chance that it wasn't. I'm just willing to give her that one little chance.

    It's not going to make a difference to me one way or the other politically speaking, but humanly speaking, I can give her this point.
