I was the original poster and was disgusted with how ugly and un Christlike it was. The original poster has the right to have it closed or removed.

Translation "I was the original poster and was disgusted that I wasn't having it my own way, watching it become very un-arminianlike. The orginal poster has the right to have it closed or removed."

I am not an Arminian nor a Calvinist. Neither fit my beliefs nor are either taught in my church.

Please DO keep up the personal attacks tho. It only proves my point. [IMG]

Don't Calvinists think those personal attacks were predestined to be wrong.

According to Calvinists on the BB one man was predestined to verify that Calvinism was wrong because he threw out TULIP.

So you never hear any of these topics preached on at your church?

-Man's inability to come to God on his own
-Man's ability to come to Christ
-Man's election based on the good pleasure of God's will
-Man's election based on his faith
-That Christ died for all men without distinction
-That Christ died for all men without exception
    -That God's call is effectual
    -That God's call is ineffectual
-That saints will not lose their salvation or fall away
-That saints can lose their salvation or ultimately apostasize?

What exactly DOES your church teach?

You know what I mean. Our pastor uses the Bible and not the teachings of mere men.

Be careful not to value a mere man's interpretations and thoughts over what the Bible has to say.

That's a nice way of saying they don't study theology....

I guess you go into a restaurant and they ask you ," Do you want the "meat" menu or the "vegetarian" menu?" You can say ... I'm neither a meat eater or a vegetarian! Labels just divide! .... Have fun going hungry!

Boy look up a picture of Calvinists in the dictionary and a mean old bully is pictured!

You BOTH know what I mean but again you play the word game.

My pastor does not preach points 1-5, etc. of any man. He preaches from scripture. Before Baptist Board, I'd only heard C/A mentioned one Wednesday night by a preacher who began swaying toward Calvinism and quickly lost his church. He's now working in a bullet factory.

I'm by no means a Calvinist, but even if I never refer to TULIP one way or another, my theological presuppositions affect my application of scripture. It is impossible to do otherwise. You cannot approach the text tabula rasa--your own thoughts, paradigms, etc. affect your interpretation, even if you do not explicitly reference your influences.

So the Holy Spirit is powerless to guide you, Stefan?

Where did he say the Holy Spirit is powerless to guide him? I have read what he posted a dozen times and just can't see where he said or implied any such thing. Here is what he wrote:
Can you point out to me where he said or implied that the Holy Spirit is powerless to lead him?

    Thank you.
