Its amazing what you can do/make with leftover fuel cells, bombs(hopefully defused, but hey . . .:flower::flower:)

If you think about it----barring the scars of war I am convinced that Southeast Asia(including Vietnam) is some of the most beautiful landscapes on the planet!!

    Not many pictures--just memories.

Recall a mission to NKP Thailand--to support the A-26's. The mission was to bomb and strafe convoys on the notorious trail called Ho Chi Minh--at night. We also launched C-47 's for flare support.

Seemed effective until someone changed the rules of engagement. We did not do well in guerilla warfare using Geneva convention rules. We still have a similar problem with terrorists. These folks ask for no quarter--why do we insist on pussyfooting with their rights?

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

That was very interesting. 50 bucks will get you one of those Laos GPS maps to take a tour with; can't help but wonder if there's still not some festering hostility/animosity towards white folks for bombing them such; you know, like venturing alone onto some of the Indian reservations out west....

The natives remind me of those living in the Amazon.

Some of the photos gave me goose bumps, even after all this time.

In late 1968 I was part a 14 man Marine recon team whose mission was to photo and map a road running under the jungle canopy.

Some of those pictures remind me of the way it looked, with the road completely concealed from above by the jungle canopy.

Our mission was cut short before we could complete it, but that's another story.

God bless you men who served over there. I was too young, but I do remember the news every night would show how many had died each day. It was very scary. You all never got the hero's welcome we see today when soldiers come home from the mid east. I will never understand the liberals who hated our beloved military back then and now.
