President Trump at NRA Convention: Gun Rights Originate from God Not Government | Breitbart

"He said, “Your second amendment rights … will never, ever be under siege as long as I am president. … We believe that our liberty is a gift from our Creator, that no government can ever take it away.”"

I support President Trump over the alternative and I understand the importance of and support the 2nd Amendment. However, the statement above, is lunacy.

The God of the Bible has not decreed any special rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, to this country.

The fact is, our 2nd amendment rights are under siege while he is in the White House. If conservatives did not fight to maintain our right to bare arms, that right would, in short order, be lost.

If this country is so great in God's providence, why isn't it mentioned in end-time prophecy? Could it be because it is not a world power to be reckoned with? Or, it is under control of another government?

If my observations are accurate, then where is the source of influence causing the masses to believe this "hog wash" originating?

[2Co 11:13-15 KJV] 13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Be ever vigilant or be deceived.

Thomas Jefferson said that rights originate with God so Trump was merely repeating what the Founding Fathers said. Rights are not given only to Americans but to all people but many governments worldwide have abrogated human rights. For example, the communists Castros and their psychotic ally Che turned Cuba into a poverty-stricken prison devoid of any human rights since 1959 and still ongoing.

I assume you know that Jefferson was not a Christian, correct? He was a theist. So when he talks about God it's not the God of the Bible.

What Trump said was correct.

Jefferson was a mystery. He governed as a Christian. He followed judeo Christian values in his governing.

Jefferson used certain passages of the New Testament to compose The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth (the "Jefferson Bible"), which excluded any miracles by Jesus and stressed his moral message. The account of Christ's resurrection was excluded. I wouldn't call that Christian. Together with James Madison, Jefferson carried on a long and successful campaign against state financial support of churches in Virginia. Also, it is Jefferson who coined the phrase "wall of separation between church and state" in his 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptists of Connecticut.

Jefferson's "wall" only went one way. He was relentless about keeping government out of Church, but he embraced Church in government.

He believed in a god but didn't believe that Christ was devise or in His resurrection.

Assuming that you are correct that rights don't originate with God, where do rights come from? Is it correct to agree with the Castros and Che that the Cubans have no rights?
