I watching this ministry on TBN. It was about Holy Laugter all they would do is sing praise songs & then start laughing for like 20 mins.. It got to the point that even my little daughter 2 1/2 starting cracking up and I followed. It was so crazy for real. I mean.. I dont think it was the Holy Spirit but I was cracking up. What is this Holy Laughter thing? Have you seen what I am talking about?

Every time I see that statement all I can think of is a campy 60's show about two guys running around in pajamas and capes.

This is something that is based on New Age meditative techniques, various yogis will lead their followers in different repetitive activities which lead to a euphoric feeling, i.e. yelling, jumping, laughing, shaking, etc. This is nothing more than attempt to trick people into seeking refuge in endorphine rushes instead of Jesus.

I don't know anything specific about this instance, but having read about the Cane Ridge meeting of 1801, "holy laughter" was prominent amont the very many things that went on there for 10 days. I have also read references having to do with the early Methodist movement.

I've seen this on TBN. It's called "laughing in the spirit." There are churches out there which also practice "barking in the spirit." Look it up.

Wonder what the next big thing is that will pack 'em in?

Probably some seeker church, whose pastor will illustrate his sermon series on Better Sex with a live demonstration.

Garbage in. Garbage out.

I started threads on this last year on a couple of Christian websites. Here is one of them. My first post includes a video showing an example of this behavior. If you haven't seen this you ought to view it. It made me mad.

A good read on this subject would be "Charismatic Chaos" by John MacArthur. It will open your eyes to the apostasy of this behavior and it's hijacking of Christianity.

The video is not there anymore. It says removed by user.

Do you need proof to laugh?

Prov. 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

So could one be healed if they laugh? Science suggest that laughter releases endorphines that do help a body heal. But God already knew that.

Now.... think about barren Sarah.

Gen 21:6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

Yep and she was no longer barren and at the ripe old age of 90 had her first child!!!
