I agree with the idea of "protesting the protest" but the overall tone of his email is way over the top and unnecessarily perjorative.

 

I thought we Christians were supposed to advocate good manners. As I said I agree with the idea of protesting the protest; however, one can maintain civility and good manners while doing so.

Yes, the professor says he would not have used such language if he had known it was not to the one individual that he intended to write to. It sounds like he reacted in haste and was just blowing off steam like some folks do on this board sometimes(myself included).

I guess the lesson for all of us is to remember that how we act in private is as important as how we act in public.

If people don't like America, they should leave it.

As for Christians using manners...

I can't imagine Christ saying, "Pardon me" when he whipped the money changers out of the temple....

I am so tired of all the Hellbound muslims saying they are a religion of Peace...

Do you think that Christians are not obligated to use good manners as followers of Christ Jesus?

Sometimes I think that some Christians(not directed toward you, tinytim) are no different in their feelings toward Muslims as some Muslims are in their feelings toward Christians. The only difference is that these type of Christians don't go all the way to physical violence. Of course, Jesus taught us on the Sermon on the Mount that thoughts are just as bad as actions when it comes to our relationship with God.

 

I don't think we see many good manners demonstrated in the bible. Oh of course we should have good manners toward satan and his people, we wouldn't to offend him.

Mmmmmmmm, I recall reading in the New Testament that we Christians are told to love our enemies and to bless those who curse us.

Well, good to see racism hasn't lost its place on the good ole board! Not all Muslims are terrorists and yes some are very peaceful. I know it is hard to believe, but it's true.

Bin Laden is a complex character who has been emboldened by his successful efforts against Russia. Now with the Americans, I think, he thinks he fighting the same war as he did in Afghanistan, just with different uniforms. I don't pray he will be successful anymore then I would pray for a bank robber to be successful. I am commanded to love my enemies..I'm not sure why because if ever there was a "hate-able" guy it would seem as though Bin Laden fits the bill perfectly. But Jesus commands this effort and that is what I will attempt to do.

Saddam was a man who endorsed and participated in evil and awful things toward his fellow man (to borrow a phrase). He needed to be brought to justice, that is without a doubt. I wouldn't have however executed him, for in doing so we participated in the exact same activities in which we condone.

I would put an illegal immigrant in charge. Clearly if they are willing to risk arrest, deportation and death to get into America...they must love this country waaaay more then anyone I know if they are willing to go through all that just get here and earn a few cents over $5/hour!

Do you not have anything other than liberal talking points to banter about? Where did you ev er get the idea that they make so little money? It is in complete error. They in fact make much more. Living in an area where illegals are 66% of the population because of the orange groves I know a bit about them.

And they come here to work for ten years so they can go back home to Mexico and retire early. They dont love this country they despise it. But they want the benefits of the sacrifices that have been made to make America what it is today. And quite frankly it is a sacrifice they are not willing to make themsleves at home in Mexico. Or they would stand up to their corrupt government as our founders did. I find what they are doing quite cowardly.

And No, I don't hate them.. .when my son had brain surgery in Cleveland Clinic in 2003, we stayed at the Ronald McDonald house, and there were about 10 families that were there from all over the world that were Muslims... Some would talk to us, and some would not... but the ones that did were nice.... they were suffering because a child was in critical care. Enough that they NEEDED our medical facilities... The Cleveland Clinic.

I even made a friend that I hear about everyonce in a while... her initials were NJ... And she know I am praying for her...

So, even though I don't trust them, I still love them.
My son's dr was a Muslim, and when my son came through the surgery with flying colors, his Dr looked at us and said, "You have a great God"
I said, Yep, his name is Jesus.... He smiled at me.

I wonder if his statement to me would have gotten him killed somewhere else....

 

I think the professor made some sweeping generalizations, but at least he was willing to not be PC in order to placate the whims of Muslim society.

I know that not all Muslims are terrorists.

I know that we should be kind to Muslims.

However, I also know that Islam, no matter what flavor, is a satanic counterfeit religion. It is against God, and no matter how peaceful some of its adherents are, it is still an evil religion. I don't limit this to Islam. I think the same things about Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, etc.

 

Unfortunately I must agree with you on this point.

Also, unfortunately, it's the liberals who keep said racism alive and well - not only on this board, but in the nation.
