    What are your beliefs?

Start defending them with Pentecostals by practicing stating--and defending--them here.

Pearl, you need to know just what you believe. Like Don said, tell us what you believe, that way you'll learn to put it into words. Lets just say, this is a no debate thread, lets just let Pearl learn how to state what she believes.

    What do you believe about,....

    salvation?
    baptism?
Holy Spirit in you a believer?

You can go on and on. Only you know just where your being pressured by your friends. And having had this experience I don't think you'd be asking all the time if they weren't pressuring you.
A few days ago someon, can't remember who(speak up who ever you were), suggested the John MacArthur book, Charismatic Chaos, and even gave a site(I didn't save this, so I need it again if anyone has it), and so I bought the book that night, it cam on Friday, and it is really good. Wish I'd read it years ago. Once you know where you stand on what you believe, this book would be good to help you see and understand that what charismatics teach is not true. And many don't know it, they are being mislead.

    Dear Pearl:
If you take positions that are in harmony with the word of God, You will be able to defend the faith. ( Eph.4:4,5). Anyone who studies the topics and has bilbical evidence will be able to earnestly contend for the faith.( Jude 3).
You should first make sure that what you believe is in harmony with the Word of God. If your position is not in accordance with the word of God change it. Then, learn the scriptures that teach the position of truth that you hold. Next, present the truth to your penecostal friend in love. Help them to see that only the truth saves us. ( James 1:18, James 1:21).
    Sincerely,
    Frank

Your beliefs do not need to be defended. Ultimately, you will only answer to God. The only question you will need to answer is when Jesus says "But who do YOU say that I am?".
If you want to learn to promote your Christian beliefs, a good place to start is with St. Francis: "Always preach the Gospel. If necessary, use words." The fruit of your faith will always be your strongest testimony. Good luck and God be with you.

Defend Biblical beliefs the way you defend a lion - just turn it loose :D
In all seriousness, a great paradigm is found in 2 Timothy 2:24-26

Pearl, then state what you believe. When pressed with something you aren't sure about, just say I don't know and would rather not discuss it until I do. Better to bow out of a discussion then to be sucked into unbiblical beliefs in areas you aren't sure about.
