How did he identify these ashes as his mother??

I assume he was carrying his mothers ashes in his checked baggage. TSA thought it was suspicious and opened the bag up. After opening it, they didn't reseal the container like they should have. Instead, they left it open. The bag leaked all over the inside of his bag coating his clothing with his mother's ashes.
