Is there any reason as to why we should not have more pastors who are women.is it possible that in some circumstances such as rape cases, they can do a better job than men? My church In Melbourne Australia we have some who are assoc.pastors and they are great.By not having more women pastors are we saying sorry you might make up half the numbers in the church but you are not good enough to handle the job.

No reason at all except the Bible.

No reason at all unless God doesn't call them to that church.

Women should be Pastors if God has called them to it much like you or I.

If God calls them to it, He is denying His own infallible Word, thus the Bible loses its credibility and God His character.

Divorce was permitted in the Old Testament. Jesus forbid it in the New Testament. Hence God changed His Word. God can do as He pleases.

It is a trick question and a logical fallacy.

First, women are not pastor since that role was given exclusively to the man.

Second, your question assumes they can be pastors. Since they cannot, it is not a true statement.

Some of the best pastors I have ever worked with have been women. Unquestionably God-called, God-gifted women.

Absolutely. God can do as He pleases, but it does not please Him (I do believe) go change His word. He said that He never changes. "For I am the Lord, I do not change..." (Malachi 3:6)

Jesus said, as recorded in Matthew 19:9, "And I say to you, whosoever divorces his wife, EXCEPT for sexual immorality, and ....". Jesus does allow one exception as recorded by Matthew.

Just wanted to clear that up.
    G'day and God bless !!

God created men and woman equal in the garden. Sin destroyed this and we have been on the outer ever scince. At the time of Jesus Christ women were treated in the same way fundamentalist muslims treat women today.

In 1Tim 2:12 Paul states "I do not permit a woman to teach" He dosent say "You shall not" Paul took this descion due to a society based judgement of women. Times change and if the Modern Day Apostles want to ordain a woman if they feel God is wanting them to they certainley can.

The fact is that there are significantly more women following Jesus Christ than males. There are many instances where a male pastor cannot counsel a female. Women Pastors are currently getting million saved. Who am I to tell a woman not to confess Jesus Christ behind the pulpit?

Whilst my question may have sounded to be a trick question it was not intended.I would not insult
fellow Christians with such stupid antics, that is not my style.

I have no problem with women pastors and neither does the Bible, IMO.

If we regard a Pastor as one who Shepherds / tends to the flock of Gods People, How about Queen Esther?

The Bible is clear. No women prechers. Period.
Women are not to have the athority over man. So if she is "pastoring" a church with men and women, she is going against the Bible because she is over the man.
If you notice, in the pastoral epistles, it always refers to a MALE when talking about preching or the office of deacon. {Except maybe the non-gender "bibles", and I don't consider them to be "Bibles" anyway.} I realize this may sound a little harsh, but I just mean to state the truth. If I've offended you in actions, I'm sorry, but I won't apologize for speaking for what's right.
    IMHO, Abby

How do I feel about women pastors?

In the end, my feelings don't matter.

Our beliefs must be grounded in the text.

Otherwise you get into that whole "my personal feelings are more important that the chauvanist Paul's opinion" hermeneutic. Or better known in recent days as "Jesus is the criterion" interpretive methods.

Not looking for "ifs", Ben. Looking for examples of women in the Bible who were pastors.

"If" you have to qualify your answer with "if," then perhaps a detailed analysis of what the Bible identifies as a pastor should be undertaken before we get onto the subject of who can be a pastor.

 That's an astounding misrepresentation of those who believe the Jesus is the criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted.

That is as accurate as saying that the conservative resurgence is about upholding KJVO doctrine.
