how do you get rid of announcements

Little more info, please. Not sure if you're talking about a window that pops us, or if you're talking about a certificate announcement.

If it's the certificates, then your Security settings are causing it.

If it's pop-up windows, then you need a pop-up blocker.

What browser are you using? What version of that browser?

 

I have netscape. Go to tools and popup manager. I have eliminated almost all popups.

 

Okay, happens in all three browsers.

Do as GB suggested. If that doesn't fix it, need you to give a more detailed account of what the window says.

For example, it may say something about certificates, or it may be a small window that says something about your internet connection.

If possible, the next time you see the message, do the following:
Press your "Print Screen" button
Go to Start, Run; type in "pbrush"
When PaintBrush starts, select "Edit", then "Paste"
Select File, Save, and save this picture to your computer. Not sure if BaptistBoard has a way to upload pictures to messages; you can always e-mail me with the picture, and we'll go from there.

 

Oh, there's probably a faster way to do it with Windows, too; that's one of the things I get irritated with MS Windows about. There's usually 14 different ways to do the same thing....

'Course, I 'grew up' in DOS, where if you wanted to copy a file, you typed "copy <file>". None of this, "right-click and select copy, or left-click and press CTRL-C, or drag, or...."

 

Uncharted, am I to assume that GB's suggestion didn't work for you?
