How do you know if a prophetic message is for you?

I got an email today from a christian woman which had a prophetic message on her homepage. Do you believe in such prophetic messages? I don't really know what to think about them because such messages are all over the internet and you can never really know if they are real or not. But this message could also fit to me. But I'm also not sure. But since the message had a warning tone I'm a bit worried that it might be for me and I don't know it. :(

Just as a head's up... don't ever go to a Chinese restaurant!!! At the end of your meal, a mystic servant will personally deliver these magic cookies and they all have personalized prophetic messages inside of them! You will absolutely go insane.

XDisciplex,

1st, it wont contradict the scriptures. But if it passes that test, then if its for you you will know it. You will discern...clearly...Gods *voice* in it. Not necesarrily an audible voice, but you will be given a very real *knowing* that its of God, and it will be so tangible that the thought of being talked out of it would be ridiculous.

God bless,

Mike

I don't know. All I discern in those messages is a scary undertone.
The woman said something like: I did this especially with YOU in mind.
I asked her if she really means me and if so why didn't she use my name.
She replied and sounded a bit annoyed that this message is directed to anyone who feels it's directed to and so on.
Yes, with (YOU) in mind and heart, under God's leading I created
the poetic page, as all of my writings and prophetic messages are.

YOU is for the one to whom the "word" fits, to whom God speaks, and to whom
it is concerned.

Jesus says: "Even so YOU outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within YOU
are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."
The "YOU" refers to the one who fits this message, who in turn can fill in
his own name.

Elsewhere, Jesus says, "Blessed are (YOU) the pure in heart: for they shall
see God."
Again, this is to the individual who fits this scripture.

Ephesians 5:15,16 See then that YOU walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as
wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Colossians 2:6,7 As YOU have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so
walk YOU in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as YOU have been
taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

I am sorry, that YOU are missing the blessing of that which God
had in mind for YOU, through the writing "THE ROAD OF LIFE".

I am glad that the Children of God have been greatly blessed and needs have
been met, through this poetic web page.

Please, turn your eyes upon the Lord, NOT on people, and YOU will see God at
work in your personal life.

Who is this woman?
I tend to lean more towards the words of Chuck Pierce, John Goll, John Paul Jackson. But like D28guy said,
1st, it wont contradict the scriptures. But if it passes that test, then if its for you you will know it.
Our church had a Prophet show up recently and the things he was saying was right on. He even called my cousin up and began talking to her and I was amazed at the things he knew without knowing/meeting her before.

This is the woman. http://trudyveerman.blogspot.com/2006/02/great-earthquake-coming.html

I think she's not as popular as Chuck Pierce. :wavey:
I went to her sight and I would like to know how in the world does what she said make her a prophet????? Jesus talked about earthquakes like the world had never seen nor ever will see. I already knew that. It seems you are willing to believe any goofy thing, but not willing to listen to the truth.:BangHead: :BangHead:

Read 1Cor 12 to see the NT teaching on the gift of prophecy.

Read 1Cor 14 to see the NT teaching/command to accept that gift and not reject it.

But that does NOT mean you go around believing everyone that claims to have the gift. 1John 4 we are told to TEST them and not to blindly believe every one of them.

Trust God's Word --

In Christ,

Bob

How do you know if a prophetic message is for you?

If the message is from a bloke named Isaiah or Ezekiel or Elijah or .... then there's usually something in it .... :)

I'm a bit concerned. I asked a pastor who I know about what he thinks of this email and he said that it doesn't contain anything unbiblical and that it could be for me. There really are so things in the message which fit to me, but also things which I think do not fit so well. And there are also parts which scare me. :(
This is the message:

February, 2007.
My child, your spiritual welfare is at stake; therefore you must reassess your position in the Kingdom of God.
Because you think to save your life in this world, you will lose it. Count not this earthly life and you shall keep it unto life eternal.

What does this mean? To save your life? Does this mean that as a real christian you should look forward to death and not care about anything?

You have relied on your own wisdom, which has led you astray. You thought to know it all, but you tripped and have fallen backwards.

How long do I need to wait before you humble yourself? Bow down and go on your knees before My face! Cleanse your heart and soul from the cares of this world. Do away with your fears and anxieties; instead rely on Me. Call upon My name from the depth of your being. Cry aloud in repentance for that which you have allowed yourself to be dominated by.

You have grabbed human props to support yourself, which are now failing. Don't you remember your God from earlier days? Have you forgotten from which I saved you and set you free? You may think you know Me, but unless you obey my Word and walk in the path of righteousness, you haven't met Me yet.

Keep your eyes away from the things which entice you and have your focus upwards, to where your real treasures are. Time is fast diminishing; your life is like a shadow that declines; a flower which fades; and grass that withers. Just a short while and you are no more. You will leave this planet naked, the same as you came.
Come back unto Me; return to the God of your salvation and be called wise.

The Lord is calling for your attention, through His servant.

Prophetic message

First, it will always follow scripture. A decent number of prophetic messages are scripture. (not all) Second, usually there is an internal witness of the Holy Spirit to go along with it. Similar to how you know if the Holy Spirit is speaking to you or not in a scripture.

I believe the prophecy of AMY G. is more for you than then
others. Study carefully what AMY G. says (not just this
thread, but other threads as well).

Amy G. : //It seems you are willing to believe any
goofy thing, but not willing to listen to the truth. :BangHead: //

Amen, Sister Amy G. -- you are so RIGHT ON!

2 Cor 13
5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified. 6 But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.

Matthew 16
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

You have relied on your own wisdom, which has led you astray. You thought to know it all, but you tripped and have fallen backwards.
Proberbs 3
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [fn1] direct your paths.

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your [fn2] flesh,
And strength [fn3] to your bones.

Matthew 6
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

You have grabbed human props to support yourself, which are now failing. Don't you remember your God from earlier days? Have you forgotten from which I saved you and set you free? You may think you know Me, but unless you obey my Word and walk in the path of righteousness, you haven't met Me yet.
James 1
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

1 Peter 1
22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth [fn4] through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides [fn5] forever, 24 because

"All flesh is as grass,
And all [fn6] the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away,
25 But the [fn7] word of the Lord endures forever."

As you can see XDX, this "prophecy" if you want to call it that, is not a new revelation from God through some woman or anyone else. It's right there in the Bible. The revelations we receive from God in this day come from His word. There are no prophets in this, the church age. We do not need them. God's word is the final authority.

It is finished!
