Jn. 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

How does Jesus fulfill this promise and how can it be tested or verified?

Yes, the inner witness of the Spirit.
Or, if you’re Mike Thompson, on a piece of toast.

In all seriousness, I believe that His love is manifested through us. It is through the Holy Spirit working within us, and can be verified by examining its fruit.

We, who are in Christ, can discern spiritual things. Many of these manifestations, the love shown to us, are readily evident but often ignored.

God reveals Himself to the lost through the Holy Spirit drawing them.

After being saved, God reveals Himself to us through His written Word. We know about Him at the point of salvation, but reveals Himself to us in greater detail through reading His Word.

This is a promise directed at those who are already disciples of Christ but conditioned upon keeping Christs commandments.

Jesus told those he is speaking to they already knew the Holy Spirit.

Jesus identified them already as his "friends" and promised to bring them to where he was in heaven (Jn. 14:1-3).

This is a promise to those who are already his friends, his disciples, those he will take to heaven as believers. What is the special revelation of Himself to friends, disciples, heaven promised beleivers who keep His commandments?
