THIS MAY BE HARDER THAN YOU MAY THINK. IN FACT THE ANSWERS WILL BE ON THE TIP OF YOUR TONGUE, BUT YOU JUST CAN'T QUITE
    REMEMBER THE CORRECT ANSWER.

DON'T LOOK BELOW FOR THE ANSWERS UNTIL YOU HAVE TRIED ALL THE QUESTIONS. tHAN POST YOUR SCORE.

I missed the Viet Nam ; LS/MFT, and Don McClean questions. No excuses, just blank memories on those three. When it comes to the Viet Nam question, my dad would have shot me if I burnt mine ... he was a true patriot; I was a partial hippie ... but I respected him!

I got all but #1 and #3, but I remembered #3 once I saw the answer.

I do remember the Lone Ranger show, but I didn't recall the silver bullet.

I got them all but No. 1. Somehow in watching the Lone Ranger I missed the part about the silver bullet.

How much do I remember? Not much after the sixth one. Everything went blank until the next morning I woke up in a dumpster, with my clothes all dirty and torn. Somebody must have slipped something in my milkshakes. :D :) ;)

Believe it or not, I was a complete blank on the first half of #10, and there is debate about #13 -- I've heard several different answers, and McLean was never too forthcoming about it. I've listened in without much interest on debates about it. Most people don't get it. The only clue is that he dedicated the album to Buddy Holly.

    Missed #16. Didn't have a clue!!!

Missed first part of the Red Skelton question. But remembered it when I saw it.

I always thought the American Pie song was in memory of all three guys who died in the plane crash, not just Buddy Holly.

Got them all. Sorry to be a show off.

To make up for it, when I meet someone new I have to ask their name for the next seven to ten times I encounter them. Okay, I used to remember pretty girls names pretty well, but even they require four or five encounters these days.

Scarlett, yes; the 'Day the Music Died' referred to the deaths of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens (Ricardo Valensuela) and the Big Bopper (who's name I do not know.) It was a tragedy, even if 'rock and roll' was not approved.

    Go BIG Red!

I am quite familiar with Hastings, and I have family and friends in GI, Kearney and Hastings! I spent three years developing the Hall County Youth Services Bureau [probably no longer there]. The grant was to develop a system for status offenders [teens] such as emergency foster homes, counseling, crisis counseling, etc. I had a counterpart in your county, doing the same thing! All in all, we had a grant for five Nebraksa counties, and we all accomplished the goals of making sure status offenders were no longer arrested and put in jail like adults or teens who committed serious felonies!

Hall county was the first to establish emergency foster homes. I made this happen with tons of community support from 1977 to 1980. Unfortunately, the grant was put on hold after the great tornado in GI, and I was transferred to emergency management services [I was assigned to counsel several of the families who lost loved ones, and I helped them make final arrangements]. I guess they wanted to utilize me pastoral skills and experience, but closing the Youth Services was sad! After that, I ended up in Omaha with adult social services, and went private to Girls Club to develop several programs that Ruppert Murdock gave girls club 6million dollars to dvelop. I loved my days in GI and loved that job! It was the beginning of many postive things in my life and the ministry that folllowed!

    Again, go BIG Red!

Ironically, the only one I got wrong is one I have a personal connection to.

My grandfather was friends with Red Skelton. I even have a tape of Red reading "Little Black Sambo" to us kids.

And I still got it wrong.

Hey Dude, that was a fun little quiz that you posted. I got all but about two or three right. By the way, did you know that "Crest has been shown to be an effective decay preventive dentifrice when used in a conscientiously applied program of oral hygiene and regular professional care?
