My home church is 3 years old. Is this a record for a Baptist church? Can anybody beat this?

Our church is almost 200 years old. Our new sanctuary is 2 days old. Not sure what you're wanting here! Were you looking for NEW churches or new buildings, etc.

My church was founded in 1867, so its about 136 years old.

We still have the same building we built in the 1940s/50s.

The church where I hold membership was first organized in 1795. There has been two reorganizations since. The sanctuary was built in 1865 and has been added to and improved over the years. We are thankful for our Baptist heritage as this church has brought the gospel to this community in south central Kentucky for many years.

Our church is the oldest Missionary Baptist Church (one primitive congregation is older) in the Jackson Purchase area of Kentucky (far western kY), founded in 1824. A small church for most of its history, a significant revival started about 30 years ago, and we average around 1,000 on Sunday morning now. We don't use modern church growth methods. The Trace Creek method is: preach the Bible without compromise and love people without exception.

My church has been around 113 years. Of course, there are Baptist Churches in Philadelphia that go back to the early 1600's.

The church I'm part of was established in 1948, makes it 55, then again, maybe i'm part of one established nearly 2000 years ago, or do we include the OT church? .. or staying local is it simply as old as it's longest derving member? - or is the age of the church measured from the newest one to join or the last to leave?

My church was built around 1915 as a community church for a coal mining town. Different groups used the same building. In 1925 it was acquired by the Southern Baptists and in 1962-3? it went independent. So, about 88 years.

Calvary Baptist was started in 1956 as a conservative Baptist group (opposed to liberalism in the Northern/American Baptist Convention).

5 years later it intentionally split, sending 1/3 of deacons, members and pastor to form Riverview Baptist on the other side of town. Calvary continued strong.

In 1982 Riverview was knee-deep in the Hyles worship, pastor/dictator syndrome and 1/3 of its members left to form Liberty Baptist.

Liberty is my home-based church, although we are seldom there. So 21+ years exactly, but a longer heritage.

My church was chartered in 1956. Our new sanctuary is about a year old.

    Peace -

Good call with 2000 year date Bob [IMG]

The part of that 2000 year old Church I attend has been in same spot at least since my parents dedicated me there 34½ years ago [IMG] As for before that I am not sure. Not quite 100 I think.

Our church was formed in 1816 in the Clintonville section of lancaster,MA. The people met in various homes, and for a while also attended a Baptist church in a nearby town.In 1858 it was changed from the First Baptist Society to the First Baptist Church of Clinton, MA and began to meet regularly in a building of their own.The first pastor was called that year.
In 1953 it became affiliated with The Conservative Baptist Association.
    Blessings with Thanksgiving.
    Dave.

Our church started as Hammond Branch Church in Maryland back in 1793 and changed its name to Columbia Primitive Baptist Church in the early 1800's. So, we're now 210 years old.
