I had an errand to run today and when I turned on the Radio, I heard something about Sarah Palin, that immediately reminded me of the King James Bible.

From the first day, that Sarah Palin became a national figure, she(and her supporters), have been under attack.

She has been attacked(and still is), from both Democrats and Republicans and every aspect of the media.

Almost every single news network, to this day is raking her over the coals, while at the same time every imaginable television program, has been trying to make her a laughingstock. An actress who looks like her, has made a career out of pretending to be her and acting stupid.

She has been scrutinized & investigated more closely than any American has ever been, yet nothing compromising has been discovered about her.

And still, the common people respect her!
    --------------------------------------------------
In the same way, from it’s very beginnings(while it was being translated), the King James Bible(and it’s supporters), have been under attack, from all quarters.

Over the last 400 years, it has also been scrutinized & investigated more closely than any other document ever written, yet no “real mistakes” have ever been found.

Over the last 100 years or so, “pastors of Churches”, have been actively working to remove the King James Bible from their pews. Over the last few years, I have personally spoken to several pastors, who confessed to me how over the years, they have been working hard to convince the people in their Churches, to give up their King James Bibles and sadly confessed, that “I still have a few holdouts who wont give them up”.

And after all of this, the King James Bible is still loved and respected by “the regular folks”.
    --------------------------------------------------
This tells you something about Sarah Palin and about the King James Bible!

I respect your decision to defend the KJV and the Word of God. If that is what you believe, then good for you. You're consistent, and that is to be respected. (And there is no "however" in me toward you about it.)

One thing about some who defend the KJV and have been attacked for it, have been attacked deservedly.

There are some rather foolish things that go on concerning it. For instance "King James has 9 letters in it, and Paul was saved in Acts 9, and how long is a woman pregnant? That's right folks, 9 months...thus the KJV 1611 is (and note 1611 adds to 9) is the ONLY true Bible!!!!"

I've actually heard this. It is utter nonsense. After this spill, the preacher held up a book that went on and on about things like this, and sold every single copy and went his merry way.

You have to really love your KJV when you hear about Sarah Palin and think of the KJV.

I have far to high a regard for the King James translation to compare it to someone like Sarah Palin.

Is this thread for real? That has to be the worst defense of the KJV I've ever heard.

    Oy.

I personally wouldn't compare Sarah Palin to the KJV, the Cotton Patch version maybe, but not the KJV.

    Hello everyone

    It looks like hardly anyone, is actually reading the OP;
Or maybe you are, but just can’t refute it, so you simply choose to ignore it.

In any case, the similarities between SP’s treatment and the KJB’s treatment, are striking.

See, I did read it. Refute it? Simple. Did Paul Revere warn the Red Coats?

Yup, I read it. I still respect the KJV too much to catagorise it with Sarah Palin in any manner.

    Although this is off topic, yes he did warn them;

He had warned their military leaders, that if they tried to confiscate our weapons, than we were going to take up arms against them.
    ----------------
But then again, this is right on topic.

Just as the media has tried to make SP look like a fool, but playing this up; They(the media), are the ones with egg on their face, because she was right.

In the same way, that all those foolish and twisted attacks upon the KJB or it’s translators or the king himself, all seem to have traction at first, but then turn out to be nothing but misinformation.

Do you have evidence of this? I believe he told them that there were 500 men waiting for them but I don't see anything about arms.

Wow - this is a serious thread. I never thought I would see the day when treatment of a politician would be compared to the treatment of the precious word of God. This either elevates the politician or denigrates the Bible.

My Bible, even my 400 year old KJV never sounds this confusing - 'He who warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells and, um, making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that, uh, we were going to be secure and we were going to be free.'

Agreed!!!! She sounded SO confused!! I do like her as a woman but as a politician? Not so sure she's there yet.

The King James translation is faithful translation of the word of God and therefore can be trusted.

    I don't trust any politician.

I am mystified how they can be compared to each other.
