IMHO he didn't have to have a terrible event occur to promote more anger between races. The hateful rhetoric coming from the right does that every day.

That has been the strategy of the democrat party for many years. Obama has raised that to new levels and just listen to Hillary. She is trying to best Obama at that game. Very sad indeed and there is never a tragedy that democrat politicians will not use!

Chicago Police reported nearly four dozen murders in May, and the city is averaging more than a killing a day so far this year.

The 46 slayings in May, as measured by the Chicago Police Department, are the most in any month this year, but the total is not out of the ordinary. Police reported 47 homicides in May 2013, and 50 in May 2012. There were 40 killings during the month last year.

Chicago now has 161 murders for the year — the highest total through the first five months of the year since 2012, when 208 people had been killed by June 1.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office, which has different guidelines for tallying deaths, reported an even higher total: 166 homicides plus three more expected to be ruled homicides when autopsy results are released. This includes one person fatally shot by police and two people who died this year after being shot in previous years.

Murders Rise As Arrests Plunge In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A 31-year-old woman and a young boy were shot in the head Thursday, becoming Baltimore's 37th and 38th homicide victims so far this month, the city's deadliest in 15 years.

The most recent killings claimed the lives of Jennifer Jeffrey and her seven-year-old son, Kester Anthony Browne. They were identified by Jeffrey's sister, Danielle Wilder.

Jeffrey and her son were found dead early Thursday, each from gunshot wounds to the head.


As family members cried and held each other on the quiet, leafy block in Southwest Baltimore where they lived, Wilder said she felt as if "my heart has been ripped out."

Wilder said a neighbor called their other sister early Thursday, concerned that she hadn't hear any noise coming from Jeffrey's house: no footsteps, Wilder said, no voices, and no gunshots. But when her brother let himself into the house to check on the mother and son, he discovered their bodies.
