    This is demonic.
In the early 70s i worked to get hazing
out of the public school system of Oklahoma.
What ever the relationship of this camp to
any church or organization of churches,
there needs to be some church discipline.

Humiliation is NOT an American family lvalue -
humiliation should not be exported nor
    tolerated at home.

Ed the only explanation I can think of and this
is pure conjecture on my part. Is that the camp
messed up in their hiring practices or the counselors who humiliated this boy lied to get
the job. My guess and it is just a guess is that
they hired someone either unknown to them or known to them from one of these boot camps that
were popular for a couple years until the horror
stories started getting out about them.

at its website it looks like a pristine and happy
    camp
    Camp Michawana

It is now 2005 and what took place was in 2003
so I hope they have got their act together..even
the mother of the boy went there as a child.
and the pictures as of 2005 seems to show happy
    kids.

Oh, well aware of hazing in the 70's I got my
first varsity letter my sophomore year and had to
tolerate it..I had it easy because I had an older
brother and sister as junior and senior..they took it easy on me..but others got beaten badly
with a paddle..so good for you in rooting it out.
I thought it was stupid and once I got my letter,
did not take part in the hazing culture..it finally was done away with in the late 70's at BHS because of parents complaints that it had
gone to far in some cases and it had...someone
always had to top somebody else's hazing the year
    before.
