Does any body on this board hunt or fish or anything outdoorsish. I don't mean hiking or arrow head searching. I mean hunting or fishing.

Please tell me that you consider hunting and fishing a sport.

I hunt, and fish. I have a Montana Recreation liscence, haven't bought any big game tags, yet. (Big horn sheep, elk, antelope) Every year, Montana issues tags for the bison that wander out of Yellowstone.

I also bought the tribal lands recreation liscence, and have a fish tag, so I can fish on the Flathead Indian Reservation. We pull a lot of rainbow trout & kokanee out of the local waters. Every lake & river here has different regs, but they are far from prohibitive.

Even the hippies around here hunt & fish. And Teddy Roosevelt is my hero.

I would love to go to Montana to do some big game hunting, always wanted to go up north to do some of that.

I am BIG into duck hunting, or I like to think I am. I just like working with the retrievers and such, but I also like watching the birds lock up and slip and slide into the dekes.

Alot of public land around here, but you have to fight people to find your spots. I try to deer hunt on public land, but that's pretty much a pain in the butt too. Too expensive for a deer lease, can't see spending $1,500 a year just to hunt deer. That's me though.

I don't have a link, but out of state hunting & fishing liscences are CHEAP !!!!!

Also, lots of the locals not only allow, but encourage hunting on their private land.

I haven't hunted in probably 25 years. Just not interesting to me.

I fish occasionally and need to fish more, but I'd rather be playing golf, tennis, softball, racquetball, training, or something more physically demanding.

Tennessee has some of the best hunting and fishing in the U.S. I wish you could buy a seperate license for fishing / hunting rather than just a sportsman's license that covers both.

Certainly hunting and fishing are sports. Although I don't participate (I am more of the Bambi-lover, myself) and neither does anyone in my immediate family, I wouldn't begruge anyone who does. Certainly a lot of people in northeastern Louisiana love it very much.

My dad did take me fishing once when I was 5 years old. The turtles kept eating my bait and I cried.

That's my extent of experience. Don't care for it, but don't care if others do.

I think Lagardo might be a hunter...but I'm not sure. Maybe his avatar could shed some light...

Tom, you can't get a separate license? I have an out of state fishing license for TN but I don't usually hunt over there. Mine is only good for fishing.

I love to hunt but on this end of NC the fishing is much better than the hunting.

No. TN residents have to buy a combo. The Non-Res can split them, but it's a much higher rate. The combos don't make much sense for Non-Res since these folks typically just do one or the other. However, the numbers tend to show that the same is true for Res people, too. Most states offer this. Our state is woefully behind in that regard. Now, if you're between 12-15, you can buy a combo if your Non-Res.

We're getting our nephew the lifetime sportsman's license. If he fishes for 15 years, it's paid for :)
