I wonder what the backlash would have looked like if a priest would have done this in the fifties with Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash.

Bono, the lead singer, is well known for his world-wide charitable works.

The second, non-music, aspect for which he is known in his home country is his record for number of times using the "f word" at awards ceremonies.

Not having hymns is one thing...
but having glowsticks and earplugs is entirely another.

"...but they went out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not of us..." [IMG]
Of course, they had little choice, since God foreordained this sin anyway, right? :D

This could be the result of a simple misunderstanding...

The church in question is having "pastor appreciation day." In response to the ourpouring of love from the church, the pastor says, "I love you guys!"

The church responds, "We love you too!"

The pastor misunderstands their remark, and hires the band.

    Not at all surprising...

Coming from a church (little 'c') that would ordain a homosexual bishop (also with a little 'b')...

Church Music *must* have both the Heart and the Annointing...

You can not use a vessel of dishonor to minister inside the house of God...

We may disagree on styles of music...

But, there is a standard for both the source of a song and it's author...

Especially when used in praise and worship!

U2 may come to the Cross...

But, U2 may not sing in my church...

    "40"

I waited patiently for the Lord
He inclined and heard my cry
He brought me up out of the pit
    Out of the miry clay

I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song

He set my feet upon a rock
    And made my footsteps firm
    Many will see
    Many will see and fear

I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song

"40" is an adaptation of Psalm 40:1-3.

    "With a Shout"

Oh, and where do we go
Where do we go from here
    Where to go
To the side of a hill
    Blood was spilt
    We were still looking
    At each other

    Oh, we're goin' back there
    Jerusalem Jerusalem

    Shout, shout
With a shout, shout it out
    Shout...shout it out...

    I wanna go
To the foot of the messiah
To the foot of he who made me see
To the side of a hill
    Where we were still
    We were filled
    With our love

    We're gonna be there again
    Jerusalem Jerusalem

    Shout, shout
    With a shout
    Shout...
    With a shout

    "Tomorrow"

    Won't you come back tomorrow
    Won't you come back tomorrow
    Won't you come back tomorrow
    Can I sleep tonight

    Outside
    Somebody's outside
    Somebody's knocking at the door
    There's a black car parked
At the side of the road
    Don't go to the door
    Don't go to the door

    I'm going out
    I'm going outside mother
    I'm going out there

    Won't you be back tomorrow
    Won't you be back tomorrow
    Will you be back tomorrow

    Who broke the window
    Who broke down the door
    Who tore the curtain
    And who was He for

    Who healed the wounds
    Who heals the scars
    Open the door
    Open the door

    Won't you come back tomorrow
    Won't you be back tomorrow
    Will you be back tomorrow
    Can I sleep tonight

Cause I want you...I...I want you...
    I really...I...I want...I...I...
I want you to be back tomorrow
I want you to be back tomorrow
    Will you be back tomorrow
    Won't you be back tomorrow
    Won't you be back tomorrow
    Will you be back tomorrow
    Open up, open up
    To the lamb of God
To the love of he who made
    The light to see you
    He's coming back
    He's coming back
    I believe it
    Jesus coming

    I'm gonna be there
    I'm gonna be there mother
    I'm gonna be there mother
    I'm going out there
    And you're gonna be there...
