"I will tell you that I think the most important thing I can do for the African-American community is the same thing I can do for the American community, period, and that is get the economy going again and get people hiring again," the president told the newspaper.

I applaud Obama's comment which on the surface appear to not want to single out black folks in this country for special treatment as has been requested by Maxine Waters and the black caucus.

With most politicians, and this administration 'specially, I consider any verbal emanations from their lips to be lies until, and if, I see the declared results!

I really don't like being that cynical, but it's sorta like the old saying - "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

'Course it's kinda a stretch to say that that truly applies, cause I haven't been suckered in by the "0" from the time I first heard of him.

Guess that's why I'm so cynical of anything, ANYTHING, this administration does or says!

:applause: I applaud your ability to give credit to Obama despite your obvious dislike of the man and his positions. I also applaud your use of the phrase "on the surface appear" as opposed to the lying line that seems to usually come up when Obama says something conservatives can agree with.

I agree with you that all politician say things that they either fail to carry out or had no intention of carrying out in the first place. Obama is not different in this regard. I think this is one thing Obama does want to carry out if only for the simple fact that his re-election hinges on it. I also think he has been good at not catering to the whims of black advocacy groups that want to make issues purely about race.

Remember, an evil tree cannot bring forth good fruit. Obama's talk is dripping with honey, but the poison of asps is under his tongue.

I have never seen an "evil tree"...well, except for the ones throwing apples at Dorothy for picking their fruit.

If a Constitutionalist or conservative finds themselves agreeing with something Obama says, then one can assume it is a lie. If a Republican finds himself agreeing with what Obama, he is just finally admitting what his true character is.

Saying one agrees with surface appearances is like saying one agrees with a woman's eye shadow.
