I too liked the sample songs... but there isn't much else on the website. And I did notice the goatee, Aaron. You're related to this guy?

 

He should use a Strat instead of a Tele!! Although to be fair Tommy Emmanuel does incredible things on a Tele, but he's the world's best guitarest so ,,,,

Is he going to put lyrics up on site? Dunno if it was just background noise here (or if I'm deaf from the Strat) but couldn't hear much of what he was singing in the mix.

 

Just curious.

Well, regarding Rock and Roll being alright for christian music, to me it depends on how its presented.

If the musicians are behaving normally, in other words just pretty much standing there playing, if you can understand the words (meaning its not too loud), and if the focus is on praising and worshipping God, I'm all for it.

But I've seen some vidios of some absolute garbage being played...and called "christian".

I had no idea if it was actually christian...I had to just accept it "by faith" because it was a christian program on a christian network...because I couldnt understand one single word of it. Just hellish screaming.

And these poor kids where lurching around like some kind of demoniacs or something.

I have a BIG problem with that stuff. And also all the Rap noise I've endured as well.

But what I heard on the samples on this thread sounded good to me!

Of the two I prefer playing a tele...I have one...but actually if he REALLY wants to move into the big leagues he needs to play a LES PAUL!

We're not in agreement about it because the Word doesn't address it.

And just because we change, it doesn't mean we've sinned...it might mean that we have gained a better understanding of the issue. Case in point: 50 years ago, in this area there was certainly consensus about the racial makeup of churches. No longer...what happened? WE changed, but it was a wholesome change.

I won't defend all forms of any music--old school, or new. God knows the heart of the worshipper. There are pagan organists, and godly guitarists, and vice-versa.

 

Tommy Emmanuel isn't the world's best guitarist.

Tony Rice, followed by Jorma Kaukonen is the world's best guitarist.

My guitar player can beat up your guitar player.

Are you familiar with Bill Kirchen? He does things on a Tele that would just blow your mind.

I'll second that notion, Pete! Tommy Emmaneul is AMAZING on the guitar, and definetly the worlds greatest Fingerstyle player. Have you ever tried playing any of his stuff? Wow.. Incredibly hard, his alternating bass is not the standard chet atkins style, its alot funkier than that. I hate to advertise here, but here is a great magazine that I suggest you subscribe to, www.acousticguitar.com It frequently has interviews of some of the top acoustic players, and it always has good songs to play, very conservative also.
